Why do so many people say Batman is a good dad and stuff when he's canonically not to Damian? I don't really care for him but I am very confused at this point seeing so many people say very different things. He's either the Best Dad™ or someone who let children risk their lives when he could have stopped them and was also abusive to them.

I guess this depends on who the writer of Batman is at a given time. Many people who are writing these comics runs end up with different interpretations of Batman, some of them have legit done no research beforehand. You have to look for the correct takes on characters, because God knows some of these people don't know what the fuck they're doing. It's a curse throughout comic books, really.

For example, I have mainly read issues with a Tim focus, so I know how Bruce is with him– and he's fucking great. He loves spending time with Tim, is always concerned about him, trusts him, helps him, hears him out, jokes with him, guides him, accepts him, relies on him– I really can't say enough good things about their bond. Yeah, he has his moments where he fucks up, but so does everyone else.

His relationship with Dick is different, and that one has had some real issues. With Jason...I honestly think that should be taken with a grain of salt, considering Jason has really inconsistent writing, but his Robin days are pretty okay. With Cassandra, Bruce is pretty decent from what I've seen. I haven't read anything with Damian yet, so idk there (though this new run is not my fave when it comes to them.)

i will DIE on the hill that if flashpoint joker was martha and flashpoint batman was thomas, alfred should have been flashpoint catwoman. he should not have died so early and the fake out outsider twist kills ms.

julia remarque vanishing for 30 years when crisis happened and then was brought back as julia pennyworth YET VANISHED AGAIN FOR A YEAR AFTER REBIRTH. she has been done so dirty by reboots time and time again dc bring her home.

I need to ask something. I haven't read much canon yet, only the Red Robin run, Heroes in Crisis and some of damian's Robin run, so I'm way behind in canon other than the bare basics and what I've learnt from fanon

How did Jason become Robin? I know he stole the tires of the Batmobile and Batman said finders keepers or, as I like to put it, "michi sin correa es de quien lo vea" (Cat without a leash is for who sees it to take).

But, like. What happened between that and him actually becoming Robin? How did the Batman-is-Bruce-Wayne reveal go? Did he ask to become Robin or did Bruce offer? What did Alfred think of all of this? I know Dick wasn't happy about it, because he didn't know Bruce had gotten another kid (which is a painful yet beautiful parallel - he didn't know he had a brother, and then he didn't know he no longer did).

I hadn't really thought of it, but now that I have I'm confused lmao

I’m sorry, I’m just imagining someone casually floofing Dick’s feathers in the wrong direction & him being like, ”……..Why???” in the most hurt/offended way. Not like it’s painful or anything, but mor like it’s mild-to-moderately uncomfortable, and nobody *truly* understands the annoyance of just how many feathers get jostled out of place & need to be fixed every time they do that. (Esp Jason if he’s in a bad mood, just grumbling something like, ”Keep your feathers on!” & ruffling the elbow, and Dick just recoils with a wide-eyed ”Why would you do this to me?????” face.)
