AU where Bart Allen doesn't learn English as quickly and the poor boy is just fucking LIVID the whole time. On more than one occasion he follows Wally around, screaming in Interglac, until Wally cries. None of them can understand what he's saying but they know it's MEAN and NASTY. There's a constant "is this my nickname or an insult?" Because Bart keeps using the same words to refer to people. They have to communicate through drawings half the time and half of them can't draw for shit. Max learns he's color blind after having the most confusing conversation through drawings about apples. Bart becomes fast friends with Preston because the blonde went "wait a minute..." and just let him borrow his camera to take pictures of things to communicate. Bart ends up with a thick book full of pictures that he'll sometimes grab mid-argument, flip through aggressively, pull out a picture of what he's trying to refer to, and shove it in someone's face. Similarly, he and Carol become friends because she's one of the only people patient enough to wait for him to figure out a translation and she can actually draw. He's still super popular, btw, and it annoys him even more than in the comics because he can't understand what they're saying, so to him he's just being followed around by randos who won't shut up.
