So, um, first things first! You know how in fics the non-human characters have these weird courting habits that the human characters are usually unaware of? That's what will happen here.
Except, it's the other way around.
You know exactly what's going on, and you think you guys are dating.
Durin on the other hand? Completely oblivious to his own actions.
Lil bro does not know how to differentiate between platonic and romantic love yet, he's just acting purely on instinct (😭)
LISTEN, IT'S NOT HIS FAULT. You told him once that the animal like behaviors he displays occasionally are cute, and he may or may not grow to rely on his instincts way too much around you...
He stays like that for a while too, because his ass did not socialize enough to know what human flirting looks like as well.
That is until you're kissing, and he's suddenly like, "Wait a second."
I know he's slow, but he's been alive for only three months, okay? Give him some slack </333
Durin becomes a bit shier for a while before recovering from the shock. You can take that opportunity to tease the hell out of him (LMAO)
He is low-key so awkward when you try to teach him how human relationships work. Pls just let him go back to the dragon/giant lizard courting ways, he was doing so much better </333
Durin is a dragon from a fairytail, so of course, he will share some traits with them!
One particular habit of his that sticks out the most is the way he would trap you (and the story books) together under a blanket when you visit to read together. It's like his own little treasure hoard.
He also insists you stay there while he brings lunch to his room. I'm sorry you're not getting out until you spend the mandatory three hours in cuddle jail with Durin.
Even though dragons are usually pretty possessive over their stuff, Durin happens to be a bit on the tame side in that regard, so he isn't as overprotective of you.
That being said, I think if you wear something he gave you or something his, he gets weird about it.
And I mean weird weird, like you unlocked a part of his brain that he didn't know it existed.
It's kind of like when you scroll tumblr and read two lines about a not so "socially acceptable" kink and you learn something new about yourself (💀)
Kissing is so messy with him. No matter how many times you do it, there's always so much saliva and too much tongue along with the occasional headache inducing forehead bumping.
It's not even messy in a sexy way. Just kind of disgusting (LMFAO)
Durin prefers doing his own little dragon kisses instead! Which basically consists of him gently bumping his nose on various parts of your body <3 most of the time, it's either your face or neck.
He does get a little bold sometimes, but immediately gets adorably flustered and starts apologizing after.
Adores it when you scratch his wings!!! They aren't particularly sensitive like, let's say, Venti's or Xiao's. Mostly because theirs are very similar to the anatomy of a bird's wings and his are not, so you don't have to worry about accidentally getting him in a, uh, mood when you play around with them!
I do think that, however, when the tension is high and he's a bit too hot, they do become quiet the sweet spot for him<3
They get so twitchy anf fluttery too... Ughhh
Grab his tail too while you're at it, and tug on it slightly for more effectiveness.
It takes time and a lot of experimenting to find the right spots to scratch and the exact force you need to use, but the high-pitched whimpers he lets out after are so worth it <33
Especially since he is —surprisingly— more on the growly side (I mean have you HEARD his battle voicelines?)
Eager to please, so Durin insists on taking the lead whenever he can!
He always ends up getting too nervous to continue, and you have to take over for him.
It's okay, though! You think it's adorable, and you make sure to let him know that by kissing the shiny, pretty scales scattered all over his body<3
Also, no, he does not have weird anatomy down there. I have enough faith in Albedo to believe he won't do that to my boy.
LOVES loves wrapping his tail around you whenever possible.
If you happen to be a tailed creature too, he will start wrapping his tail around your own when you walk side by side, like your own special way of hand holding<33
If you don't have a tail then it's okay!! He can always wrap it around your leg instead ^^
I said this before, and I will say it again; He Can Purr.
When he learns that you like it, he starts doing it on purpose whenever he lays on top of you.
He also uses it as a pain reducing massage during your monthly cycles! (If you have a uterus, that is)
He likes curling around your tummy like an oversized cat and letting out that engine loud purrs of his.
"Does it still hurt? 🥺" No, baby, it doesn't.
Overall, very wet cat coded, just not a sad one. Turns out the apple does not fall far from the tree.
saw your shadow tako form and i thought it was a really cool idea!
but now i cant stop thinking about waking up in the middle of the night and looking up just to see shadow milk cookies head just staring at you from your ceiling. scary stuff😰
