TW - trans-gender, trans-sexuality, deconstruction of gender
In the natural world, i.e. in nature - there is homosexuality and bisexuality and asexuality and intersex (e.g. hyenas) and celibacy and masturbation and all the things humans do and that some people inaccurately claim are 'unnatural'....! but evidence proves these things are natural because all kinds of species do them - and do them naturally. Occasionally, there is even natural trans-sexuality.
But nowhere in the natural world, i.e. in nature, exists the phenomenon of trans-genderism or gender-confusion. I guess the obvious explanation for this - is that nowhere in nature exists the concept of gender.
Sometimes humans (males ones usually) attempt through their own worldview to classify behaviors in animals and call it gender; such as submissiveness or aggressiveness - but sexes in all species exhibit all behaviors - so calling it "gender" is ludicrously unscientific and deliberately ignores the facts.
Who is more dangerous to a naked human without a weapon - a hungry male lion or a hungry female lion? Stupid question. If aggression is a "masculine" gender trait then why is a wolf-bitch protecting her cubs more aggressive than a wolf-dog protecting his territory? Another stupid question. If submissiveness or preening are gender traits then why do we see both male and female sexes displaying these behaviors? Duh! Because behaviors in nature are not gender based. Because gender doesn't exist in nature! double duh.
Sometimes individual animals change sex i.e. are trans-sexual - but lets look a bit closer before we claim this rare and naturally occurring trans-sexual phenomenon is evidence of trans-genderism or that it is supportive of the idea that humans are trans-gendered naturally.
Some individual fish or frogs have been observed to change their sex organs. This occurs if the population does not have enough of one sex to allow procreation and survival. e.g. the reed frog releases a natural chemical trigger that activates the sex gene to disintegrate the female organs and develop male ones.
Some tree species can reproduce asexually. But again this is completely naturally occurring and reproduction related not for gender expression.
In other words sometimes animals naturally grow male or female sex organs in order to reproduce (never via surgery or to 'express' themselves). Their bodies do it for pragmatic reasons and their minds have little idea what's going on. It is natural trans-sexuality - It would only be classified as trans-genderism if they also start wearing nail-polish !
Because changing sex and changing gender are two very different things!
Notably - humans cannot change sex naturally and when they unnaturally (i.e. via surgery & externally derived hormones) change their sex - they become infertile and can no longer reproduce, their sex organs are "pseudo" and not natural or naturally functional.
Whereas although humans can change their gender - it is because gender is arbitrary - what is perceived male by one person/society is perceived female by another (e.g. displays of emotions or mannerisms) - and humans can only change gender using unnatural and external means (such as makeup, clothing and acting in socially defined ways).
I realize that - despite my initial trigger warning and this being tagged radfem - some trans people will still have read it and are now ready for a debate and even to attack me personally. sigh. If you are itching to dispute the above please stick to the science and facts only - I am not interested in emotional and endless debates (which are boring and pointless) and so probably won't bother replying especially if you insist on hiding in anon while you send abuse or rape threats (yawn). If however you are prepared to be calm and rational then I am happy to hear alternate arguments.
