Huh? Oh yeah my favorite hurt/comfort trope is when The Character grows up believing love is conditional so they start walking on eggshells because they Know they can't meet every expectation, and then when they're shown genuine kindness and affection by their found family/friend group they reject it because that isn't how the world works (while their peers desperately try to explain that it is)
