Wouldn’t be me if I didn’t have an “I noodled further” version 💃
Tweaks:
- Super slight skin tone adjustment
- Added more silver
- Skinnied up and darkened the noose
- Lightly deepened some of the wrinkles
- Honey I shrunk the coins

Skin Game - Harry and Mab meeting Nicodemus
So I decided to try and make sigils for all 30 Denarians, because why not. But it's always bugged me that their names, as far as I can tell, don't actually mean anything/match up with any angels in apocrypha (Apart from Magog, and his name doesn't even have the -el at the end). And then there's Ursiel, who is clearly just the latin word for bear with the -a at the end replaced with -iel. That's just lazy. So I came up with an explanation/headcanon that I'll use for any denarian stuff that I write.
In my version of things, the Fallen were subjected to a sort of metaphysical damnatio memoriae (the roman practice of erasing someone from the historical record by destroying inscriptions of their name and paintings/statues/any depictions of them) when they were cast into Hell. God literally ripped away a piece of their identity as part of their punishment. This is also why I made all the sigils asymmetrical; they're literally incomplete. I haven't made any for non-fallen angels yet, but I imagine those as being symmetrical and less jagged
So their names are deliberately nonsense and don't mean anything like a lot of angels in christian and jewish lore. Since we don't know the names of all 30 of the Fallen in the coins in canon, I just made some up that sounded good to fill out the list. Of course, then I had to figure out what their original names were. So I used a few sources; some apocryphal angels from stuff like the Book of Enoch, the some of the Angel names from Evangelion, and when I couldn't find anything, I just looked up hebrew words and slapped -el on the end.
For the sigils themselves, I started by writing out the original name of each angel in Enochian minus the "-el", (since that means "of god") and then just kinda mashing the letters together into a shape I liked. And yes, I know that Anduriel and Lasciel technically have canon sigils thanks to the jewelry sold by Badali, but I didn't really like those designs.
List of the Fallen under the readmore
I've become enamoured with an AU thought for the Dresden Files.
We know as of Peace Talks, that Daniel Carpenter has relatively quickly ended up married with a baby on the way post Ghost Stories.
And I like the idea of Daniel's pregnant wife secretly being one of Nicodemus' hereditary cultist stock. We know that they don't lose the tongue right away as an obvious tell they have to "earn" that. We also know that Felicia Raith got Daniel talking before about the sword so he is not entirely immune to charms.
Nicodemus meanwhile can't go near the Carpenters anymore but it's outright mentioned his mortal followers could. So this would be someone with a direct ear in and direct access, it would be a huge advantage. Daniel being away with the military on occasion is also a benefit for such a subterfuge as it gives more of a loose unobserved leash for anything she gets up to.
I feel it's absolutely the sort of devious shit Nicodemus Archleone would condone.
Viewers discretion - and in fact I'd love to hear how anyone else would run an idea like this if they had any thoughts - whether this was the cultist's own plan she brought forwards or his he told to do.
Also viewers discretion about how she ends up feeling about things by the end of it all. Redemption arc, loyal to His Cause to the end, or somewhere in the middle.
I know it isn't canon but it's fun to toy with as a concept.
Dresden Dead Beat Inktober prompt #10, Lasciel for “pattern.”
Yeah, this is where I just started skipping around. Figured drawing something out of order was better than drawing nothing.
I always think of spiders with Lash.
Failing to keep your crush on the hero on the down-low around other villains
Nicodemus: God, I hate that Dresden!
Lasciel: Yeah, me too, I bet his dick is too big!
Nicodemus: What was that?
Lasciel: *panics* I bet he’s, like, really good at sex!
Random Ivy Thought #5?
If Ivy had picked up a silver coin in Small Favour and grown up with the Denarians...
Who's stronger?
The various heroes and villains of The Dresden Files are quite extensive. But the question remains:
Who's stronger?
We are all aware of Harry's power, so we won't really go into depth with it yet.
Nicodemus has proven to be a worthy adversary to several characters including John Marcone and The Archive.
Cowl is a powerhouse wizard, having shrugged off a car being thrown on top of him. And he survived the Darkhallow.
In a previous post I mentioned the Naagloshii. He was an enemy Harry couldn't simply beat on his own. Sure he gave it a run for its money, but still couldn't bring it down.
Lara Raith has proven time and time again that she is one of the most dangerous power players in the entire series. She has her fingers everywhere. Her eyes and ears are everywhere too. And she can lay down a whooping.
No real point in listing Mab or the Erlking, as they are two of the strongest Faeries in the Nevernever.
The Red King is a tricky one. He is described as blood junky and a little crazy, but he can simply stare at Harry and bring him to his knees. So it can go either way. I mean it went ONE way at the end of Changes.
If you guys have any suggestions on who is stronger or who we should add in, feel free to reblog or message me :)
