So apparently mapping out a little inner world for ourselves was a LOT easier than I realized??? And pretty fun!
Ended up being a house, the vibes just felt right for that idk, where we each have a room plus some shared spaces (kitchen, livingroom, etc.) And I used an app called Mindly to roughly map it all out!

CDD Writing Prompt: Entering Inner Worlds
I welcome everyone with a CDD to talk about their experiences, or write an excerpt on how they would like to see this aspect written in media :-)

I feel like there are many ways that this sort of thing can be portrayed because I’m certain that its different for everyone (even differing between parts). But it’s also one of those things that signals to me whether the author deals with dissociation themselves or not.. here are some tropes I’ve found with portraying a character going into their inner world, let me know if you’d write it similarly or differently:
In order for the character to enter the inner world, they must fully blackout switch into it
in order for the character to go into the inner world, they must be either nearly or fully asleep or in a trance-like state (like meditation or going through some trauma)
the character confusing the inner world with the real world (all senses feel realistic, all things seem tangible)
Alters other than the host having fully-running lives behind the host’s own, almost as if the inner world takes place in another dimension with the same sense of time and everything
There hard divide between being in the inner world vs outside of it
Being unable to know whats going on inside without intentionally going in
Alters in the inner world abide to real-life limitations (having to intentionally walk places, showing up as a full person with all their details, sometimes having to eat or sleep)
What are your thoughts on the topic? There aren’t as many examples as one may think about the inner world, even though it’d be vastly useful in storytelling to include.. but then, most DID media is about the discovery phase, so its rare they get to the point where they explore it
How would you write a character going into the inner world? If you have one, what does it feel like for you to go/look inside? How would you like to see it portrayed?

It seems like the Family grew up on a reality tv show (think the Kardashians but upper class British instead) (I haven’t seen the Kardashians in all fairness so I may be way off).
It focused on their family, following their successful upper class father, but following the children from early childhood through to young adulthood.
Tulip Field Cliffs - An Inner World Log (part 1)
Most of our system’s inner world hasn’t been discovered (at least by me, the host), but the area I reside in is what I call the Tulip Field Cliffs
It’s a large mountain with a village, a few meadows, an enchanted(/haunted?) forest, and of course lots of tulips lol (which is where we got our system name from)
The Village
The village is where most of my subsystem resides (though some alters not from my subsys are there too), the list of known alters that live there is:
Me (Taffy), Winter, Susie/Jaxon, Holly/Marie, Crepe, & Azzy
Susie and Marie live together in Marie’s mansion; Susie used to live in a mountain cave, but since moved in with Marie
Winter lives in a mansion too, but a seemingly haunted one? When the door is opened, you can hear screams coming from inside
Crepe has a cat (NPC) named Berry
The Forest
Beside the village is an enchanted/haunted forest, where Lily & Honey reside
Honey basically lives everywhere; They wander around the forest, usually in sunny meadows
Lily is basically a cryptid ?? She wanders around quietly, the sky turning black and the forest getting colder whenever she approaches
The Mountain Caves
Where Susie used to live, and where I’ve explored with her once
Her old home was in a cave close to the top of the mountain, and you can tell it’s hers lol; it’s dark, warm, and it has a lot of band posters in it?
A few caves below Susie’s, is the first area we explored, which was guarded by a bunch of snakes? I remember seeing picture frames full of memories (kind of like that one TOH episode tbh 💀), I didn’t explore there very long since I wasn’t ready to uncover potential trauma yet
