I didn't want to educate anymore but I feel like I have to say something regarding recent comments under our post.

No... Head space isn't just imagination. I am not a professional but hear me out - if it was just that then it would be easy to control but not every system has it like that. I am aware a lot of systems either have no inner world (especially with high levels of aphantasia) or have to create one for therapy reasons and then again it's much more likely to be like imagination - you are able to make elements there and change them anyway you want - but that is disrespectful for other people with DID who has it much more complex.

Some systems have their inner world made on it's own. Often it's a mirrored trauma or environment as well as whatever is happening inside can be symbolic of how a person feels or what happened to them. They do not have any control of it or very small amount. Therapy turns it slowly for a better place or make it easier to work on. It can be stable or flexible depending on the life situation. Trying to force something there might cost a person a lot as everything happening inside has consequences.

So please, do not make inner world subject "just an imagination" as it is hurtful but also make singlets think we are able to control a lot about our disorder which is untrue for many. Just because some can switch on command, force splits or remember more things between each other (due to integration or just because they're OSDD and not DID) doesn't mean everyone has the same experience. You can actually harm somebody by telling them to create a head space (as they might have one underneath) or try to change it - I'm talking from experience as it costed me a lot to listen to such advices. I know you mean well but try to give out examples instead of making something one and only truth while it's not. I know this post can anger a lot of you but I am not here to offend nor please anybody - I am just trying to explain that not everyone is the same as you and just because head space is a lot like a dream or imagination then it doesn't mean I can control what alters do there (nobody can as they're their own individuals) or how it looks even if some can create inner world on their own.

If you want to correct me - you can but please do it nicely. I won't respond to any rude comments.

Uhhhh fun fact, I'm a system! Anyways

So apparently mapping out a little inner world for ourselves was a LOT easier than I realized??? And pretty fun!

Ended up being a house, the vibes just felt right for that idk, where we each have a room plus some shared spaces (kitchen, livingroom, etc.) And I used an app called Mindly to roughly map it all out!

hello!! can we request some old time castles? like high fantasy elf type castles :)!! also rabbits and general kid friendly areas to keep pets!! (can those be either pastel or nature themed?)

I'm pretty sure this is supposed to be overgrown/ abandoned cities. I'm not good at like doing long paragraphs like everyone else, so I'll give you the photos and link our Pinterest. Pinterest for Overgrown/ Abandoned City Update: I googled it I was sort of right.

:33< hi there! im in the process of building a wonderland for me and my developing tulpa and was hoping for some ideas for what we/I could do in it? it's pretty small atm, consisting of a small cave with a fairly thin but deep river and a bridge that I went in and built myself out of a log and some stones, surrounding it is a thick forest and a sort of barrier of fog further out. my tulpa's placeholder form is a cat for context, and I have a linktype of nepeta from homestuck if that helps at all

That sounds cool! A few things come to mind immediately with your environment being a cave, but we'll get into it in a second. Just wanted to let you know that I'm not sure what you mean by linktype of Nepeta (I know what Homestuck is, I just don't know too much about it or read it). Also, I'm assuming you can interact with the placeholder like it was a regular cat (Apologies we don't know too much about the tulpa community). Anyways let's get into it!

5 Things to do in your Innerworld

Water activities

The first thing that came to my mind was swimming, but any water activity could do to a certain extent (due to the river being rather thin). Depending on how deep the water is, you could splash around, paddle a bit, or even go completely underwater! Some other water activities include kayaking, canoeing, paddle boarding, water balloon/ water gun fights, and even just relaxing and listening to the flow of the water. One last thing that comes to mind with the river is maybe a little raft that you can take out just to relax in! It could be something you can stand on and walk around on, or it could be something you just chill in. I immediately thought of the kiddie pool idea and while looking for it found a cool floaty trampoline (see images below). The only issue with these water ideas is that most cats don't like water, but test it out! See how it works. Some of these ideas can also be done alone if it doesn't work out.

2. Plants

Okay so this might be because I have this huge thing with mushrooms, but I immediately imagined some cool glowy mushrooms in the cave while you were describing it. Like neon colored, growing out of the ground and walls, they could even be bouncy! Just a cool idea. You could also do some regular plants such as vines hanging from the ceiling, moss on some parts of the ground, bushes growing outside the cave, etc. Just some greenery to fill some empty space!

3. Picnic

Have a picnic! This could be done alone or with the tulpa/ placeholder. Imagine that! Bonding by preparing a meal together (or with each other as company), and enjoying it together! You could even make eachother a meal to get to know what the other wants to try/ likes!

4. Explore

Even if you've seen most of it already! Look in an area you haven't been very often! Since you said your innerworld is a cave, you could try rock-climbing! You could also create a whole new area if you please! This would be a nice thing to do together, create an area to reflect on and build upon your upcoming relationship!

5. Get Comfortable

Enjoy a simple activity such as reading, playing a board game, or just really taking in your surroundings. Find a nice comfortable place to be, and just get comfortable! Unwind, just relax and enjoy your hard work and look at how far you've come. Such a small but equally fulfilling task.
