A Deaf male actor that uses American Sign Language and a hard of hearing female captain, Holly Hunter (The Piano) that became deaf in one ear as a child from the mumps.

Oh my gosh! More actors with hearing issues in major movies or series shows.

I'm so excited to watch this series on Paramount!

Hopefully it continues a long while.

What a real shame. 😳

No hearing person should ever have the rights to challenge how bad or good someone can hear. That is to be notarized by a certified Audiologist. Even if it's a mild hearing loss, it's still considered a language and knowledge barrier.

I grew up hard of hearing, I wore hearing aids until I became deaf in November 2001. Hearing aids only amplified noise, speech was still garbled. So I have first hand knowledge what it's like to miss out on important information in conversations.

Deaf and Hard of hearing people shouldn't label anyone either. "Not deaf enough to be my friend or business to support." 🤨

This world needs more love, less hate. Less cliques. Less finger wagging.

I watched this YouTube video about 6 times to make sure I wasn't seeing things. 👁️

So very happy Marvel Comics hired another great actress who is not only deaf but a leg amputee!

There's a lot of kids and people in our world with many diffabilities who need a great role model to look up to. Alaqua became just that through her wonderful acting skills!

I'd love to see Echo in the same Marvel movie as Makari and Hawkeye some day!

Most of us deafies still wonder to this day, why some people feel the need to yell or scream extremely loud when talking to us. Do they really think we will eventually hear them? Perhaps those will moderate hearing loss will? When a person says they are deaf, that means they hear nothing at all. Perhaps a comical Halloween themed tee shirt or tote bag will help get this message across?

For some great advice; Just speak clear and calm. Use any sign language you know or the "talk to text" feature on any kind of smartphone, or a game of Charades will even help with communication.

Some people say over sensitive, others call it empathy, some call it being a snowflake.

It's amazing what a judgemental world we live in, still, after all these years.

One person told me that all those who have any kind of disability, should be killed, only healthy people should live on this planet. That seems quite harsh, a bit like Hitler... and sort of like the Demolition Man and Elysium movies.

We've come a long way helping people with disabilities...today, many of us actually call it "diffabilities" or that we have a "super power." ✊👂

I guess to each their own. 😔
