I found these two beauties today. The top is a house centipede a girl at work found. She came to me to have me catch it and relocate (I brought it home because I love them). The other is an orb weaver my friend’s husband found by my firepit while we were clearing the table for hotdog roasting. He is terribly afraid of orb weavers specifically, but he still just called me over and let me photograph and move her.

I am well known among friends and coworkers for insisting people do their best not to squish insects and arachnids that aren’t hurting anything. It’s incredibly nice when folks that are scared of them are willing to learn to take a step back and get me instead of killing creatures that don’t deserve it. It makes me very happy.
