Boss level mission - Crowdfunding a PhD
So, some of you may know that I am wildly passionate about the book market and did some light research on it through my Master’s Degree. But I’ve decided no to stop there.
Earlier this year I got accepted for a PhD at Sheffield University to further this research and develop it to higher levels. My aim is to shed light in the way Social media is able to impact Early-career independent authors and shape their journey towards gaining renown in the book industry.
Awesome right? Riiiight. The catch is... no funding. Unfortunately I’ve been unable to get the scholarship I was aiming for, which left me in quite the pickle of having to make a loan and to raise whatever funds I might need extra in other ways.
So light bulb idea - crowdfunding! I’ve decided to have a go at it and see how it goes. But well crowdfunding needs a crowd after all. And this is where I ask for your aid: you can help my project by directly contributing or by spreading the word through reblogging, so that even more people interested in the publishing market can become part of my campaign.
I’ve posted my campaign on Indiegogo. All the details regarding my research and the goal I aim to reach can be found there, but of course I am open to inquiries. Any help you can offer, no matter how small, is much welcome. Thanks you!
