Recently I started martial arts (karate) for the first time in my life. I've been wanting to take part in this since I was a kid but never was able to due to my parents deeming it too violent.

I'm not the only white belt in my class, however I feel clumsy and unbalanced. I know it will take time to learn how to move my body the way it needs to be in order to carry out movements.

What's great is that my class is very vocal about supporting each other and they rooted for me even though they barely know me.

I'm nervous for my next lesson. But I'm also excited for what I can learn.
