The weird thing is that the Doomstorm pairing isn't really about Doom at all - it's about T'Challa. Let's not forget what's at the heart of Doomstorm lovers: the violence Doom committed against T'Challa's family (along with his anti-Black rhetoric), not to mention the violence against Storm herself.
Nothing makes a Doomstorm fan wetter than this...
... except for grueling, violent stuff like this.
That is the selling point for them. This is what they love to see - not just in comics, but probably in real life as well.
They also love that T'Challa didn't beg for his wife's life while ignoring the fact that Storm didn't beg for her life either, or that Ramonda was also ready to die. This is their proof that T'Challa doesn't love Storm or that he's "weak" and "not worthy" of Storm.
In reality, T'Challa did exactly what he was supposed to do, just as Storm did. They are the king and queen of Wakanda - and like it or not, their primary concern is for the people of Wakanda, not themselves. As much as I love the fact that T'Challa was once willing to let the whole world burn just to stay with his wife, that was an incredibly selfish and irresponsible decision on his part as a king. Once again, Marvel displayed the growth and maturity in the royal marriage, and how Storm's selfless example made T'Challa a better man and king.
Doomstorm is for people who use racial slurs in bed and say stuff like "if Black people can say it why can't everybody else" a lot. We've seen some ridiculous Storm pairings, but this one is the only one that I think is genuinely disturbing and says a lot about anyone who ships it. We don't accept ships that celebrate violence against people of color, nor anyone who would celebrate such a thing. Therefore...
Anyone who is a Doomstorm supporter is instantly banned from this blog.
