I can't tell if this is a double or triple bluff lol. Are you a warlock or a cleric? Is Tyranny your birth name and you're running from a terrible destiny and you're actually kind, or did you choose the name Tyranny? Do you wish to drive your enemies before you and hear their lamentations as you grind their bones to make your bread?
aka my current Johnlock WIP. Will be posted at Ao3 (user name: a_different_equation) ASAP. All of the stories are Johnlock fan fiction, all have happy endings, none of them is set in canon BBC SHERLOCK.
Double Bluff (ACD/ BBC SHERLOCK(TAB))
Inspired by John Taylor’s “Rediscovered Railway Mysteries and Other Stories”, read by Benedict Cumberbatch; in particular, “An Inscrudable Masquerade”
In a drawer in a bureau in an upstairs room of our home in Sussex there is a locked cedar wood box which I inherited as a youth from my grandfather. This is, one might say, my box of secrets. When I was young, it contained the treasures of boyhood. For many years since it has been the repository of an archive, admittedly a ragged and disordered archive, a collection of notes and some scribbling concerning some of the most cases of my lifelong friend and partner, the consulting detective, Sherlock Holmes.
Which, for one reason or another, I never took the trouble to write into proper reports. Having had recently little time on my hand because Holmes was too occupied with his bees, I reopened this box of yellowing notebooks and it seemed to me that several cases, giving the notion of time between those events and the present day, would now bear telling.
And I begin by chronicling an adventure which I may have dismissed for several reasons, not because it lacked baffling and intriguing elements, on the contrary, but mostly I think because it was for me, personally, such a dizzying and distressing experience. So distressing in fact that the outcome might have been me leaving Baker Street, Holmes, and our professional and private life, for good.

Dead Letters Office (BBC SHERLOCK)
Inspired by Herman Melville’s “Bartleby” (and partly Terry Pretchett’ “Going Postal); and nods to ACD (especially, “A Study in Scarlet”)
I am a middle aged man. The nature of my employment, for the last decade, has brought me into more than ordinary contact with what would seem an interesting and somewhat singular set of men, of whom, of yet, nothing, at least that I know of, has even been written. I have known very many of them, professionally and privately, and, if I pleased, could relate divers histories, at which good-natured gentlemen might smile, and sentimental souls might weep. But I waive the biographies of all other men, for a few passages in the life of Sherlock Holmes, who was the strangest (but best and wisest) men I have ever saw, or heard of.

Dog Days (ACD)
Basically, “Silver Blaze” (ACD) slashed up.
When people suspect that Sherlock Holmes and I share more than friendship and companionship, do more than going on adventures and solving crimes, him calling “The game is afoot” and I, the Boswell and “Conductor of Light” following steady-fast and the weapon ready, that it is more than the legend and the myth, that underneath it all, it is a love story, they all would probably not suspect the case known under the name of “Silver Blaze” to be the one that changed everything.
In the later publication, I glossed over the reason why Holmes had had not already been mixed upon this extraordinary case, which was the one topic of conversation through the length and breadth of England. I mentioned that he had indeed rambled about the room with his chin upon his chest and his brows knitted, charging and recharging his pipe with the strongest black tobacco, and absolutely deaf to any of my questions or remarks for a whole day. It is true that fresh editions of every paper had been sent up by our news agent, only to be glanced over and tossed down into a corner.
I wrote about that, when he suddenly announced his intention of setting out for the scene of the drama it was only what I had both expected and hoped for. That was not untrue but neither the complete story. What was left unsaid was the fact that Holmes refused to go to Dartmoor unless I was able to accompany him.

Tagging some peole wo might be interested in such stories. Especially, the “Dead Letters Office” is so dear to me (and a b*tch to write tbh but I LOVE LOVE LOVE it), so maybe when it’s not your cuppa (no hard feelings!), a signal boost would be highly appreciated. Oh, and I am in need of a beta reader... Last but not least: THANK YOU :)

Summary: The Seraph strikes fear into the hearts of criminals, protecting the metropolis and keeping its citizens safely out of harm’s way! Nobody knows the true identity of the man behind the mask–nobody, that is, until cub reporter Dean Winchester has an unexpected brush with the mysterious superhero. No way could he mistake those blue eyes for anyone other than Castiel Novak, his newspaper mentor and oject of his deeply hidden crush! But…now what? How can he get Cas to trust him without giving away his secret?
Castiel would very much like to open up to Dean about his biggest secret, especially with how Dean has begun dropping those veiled hints. There’s just no way Dean could suspect what Cas is really hiding, of course.
Link to the fic! Link to the art!
The art, embedded in the fic itself, is by the WONDERFUL @blue-reveries, and it’s so damn perfect for this story, I can’t even say. I’ll be linking to a full art masterpost soon (UPDATE - I added it above! Go look!), but for now, here’s a teaser:
I can’t be the only one thinking that the trailers etc. for Gem Harvest are double-bluffing us, right?
When we heard the title we were all like, “This is probably gonna be intense.” Then the first sneak peek came out and it was all lapidot adopting a pumpkin dog and similar goofy magical cuteness (barring a few seconds of Steven massacring a pumpkin, of course), and we were all like, “Lol, this is actually gonna be a cute filler. They got us good.” But it’s a half-hour special. Don’t tell me that this isn’t going to be important and/or wreck my heart. I’m fairly sure we’re getting played twice over, guys.
