The Rogues living up to their rep as blue collar union villains.
If you were given a chance to write Wonder Woman, what kind of approach would you have with her if the DC editorial gives you creative freedom over all the work?
So I have many ideas I would implement into the run if do.
- Establish a Themysciran embassy in Washington DC.
I want Themyscira to be more of an active part of the world rather than just an isolated society and think bringing back this would be a good start. Putting it in the capital to not only to raise significance but to also make it clear how important Wonder Woman is to DC comics as a whole.
- Have Steve Trevor be discharged from the military because he would not become a spy for Diana, despite the fact that they've broken up.
I know Steve is currently dead, which I have mixed feelings about, especially with how it is being used, but if/when he's brought back to life, make him more of an Everyman character rather than this odd super spy type angle they e been trying and failing for years with. Steve is Diana's first connection to man's world and I feel like he should represent the good that is capable out there, like a man on the street Superman... Which, thinking about it, is just Spider-Man I guess. Have him become a PI with all the skills and experience he's accumulated & also be like the one exception the Amazons have of men they fuck with. Like if Steve & Batman are in the same room, they will run up and hug Steve while ignoring Batman.
- Create a community center run by Amazon's call the Charites Center, after the goddess of charity.
This would serve as a community staple, as well as a shelter for homeless people, DV victims, & more. Have the Amazons become a well-known presence in the area, working within the community to bring other people up. Diana has written a book before that showcased her culture, but having a place where people can experience it for themselves would give public opinion a chance to be informed.
- Diana takes a day job working at the Smithsonian museum alongside Barbara Ann Minerva.
Wonder Woman is a living relic with a large knowledge of myth and history, so having her literally educate people as well as herself in some cases would be nice to see. She's trying to rehabilitate Cheetah. After a mishap where she ran into Cheetah as she was chasing down someone, only to find that the assalant robbed a woman moments before, they have a sit down where Cheetah explains is trying to go down a new path. Diana decided to give her a chance by inducting her into the League serving as her sponsor. Though many in the league don't exactly trust Cheetah because of her past, they do trust Diana & are willing to give her a shot.
I even have an idea where Cheetah teams up with the Flash, likely Wally, and he learns more about her speed force connection.
- Diana and Barbara become a couple.
Many agree the vibe that is between Wonder Woman and Cheetah is very "tragic /doomed Yuri", but I always seen Diana as a person who tried not just to see the good in others, but tries to bring out the best in them. The reason her rogues gallery isn't as big as Superman & Batman's, isn't cuz she just kills the problem. She has redeemed many of her villains & adversaries. If anyone in that deserves a shot, I'd say it's Cheetah. The bloodlust has held her back, but Diana offering up her own blood so she doesn't attack others can be a practical & intimate way for them to truly make that connection.
- In the background you will also have Veronica Cale working to smear the Diana & Dr psycho working with Dr Poison on ways to attack the Amazon's reputation and make them look bad.
Veronica Cale is Wonder Woman's Lex Luthor. She is THE biggest hater. Her whole motivation is pure pick me behavior. She hates Diana cause she's jealous & in her mind, she should be called a Wonder Woman. Having climbed to the top of the corporate world, built her own company & gathered resources, she is the epitome of Girl Boss feminism in a capitalist society. She would find Dr Psycho to be a useful incel in her endeavors, having been a thorn in Diana's side. Dr Poison would be happy to use Cale's resources to create all kinds of things just because, making her very useful to Veronica.
Something I actually forgot to add.
- Wonder Woman takes on a new protege.. a Wonder Boy.
I just think if DC really wants to give Jon Kent & Damian Wayne a third in their younger trinity, they might as well do it in an interesting way, and an explicitly queer femboy who is the protege of Wonder Woman makes more sense to me than giving Diana a daughter. Maybe it's just me, but again I see Wonder Woman is more of a cool aunt figure, not a mother figure. She has a lot of experience and would be a great mentor, but she herself would know that she's not one to be a mother. However, she would still be a good mentor, as seen with the Wonder girls.
I am fairly of the opinion that Wonder Woman should never be a mom, she is more of the cool aunt type, but taking on a protege who sees her as a mother figure, that I could be cool with. There have been iterations of Wonder Boys before, but for this I explicitly want it to be a Femboy. I would introduce him at the community center that the Amazons have set up. Diana notices that he has a black eye, but also scrapes on his knuckles. Upon talking with him, she finds out that he's actually homeless, and has been kicked out by his parents, but also he's actually a big fan of Wonder Woman and learned how to fight by mimicking what he's seen of her in videos.
Plus if you're going to have a token boy amongst the Wonder girls, again, you might as well make it a Femboy. The Amazons are very much about divine femininity, but they are also very queer and very non-conforming to greater society's ideas of gender. That's something that should be explored more. Hell this could also be used as a good excuse to get Cassie to be more comfortable rocking her tomboy look again with short hair.

The one-shot Sins of Youth: Batboy and Robin was published with a cover date of May 2000. It was part of the Sins of Youth Event. So Gotham wouldn't realize they had switched ages, Bruce Wayne put on the Robin costume and Tim Drake dressed as Batman. They rescued Zatanna, but she was unable to break the age spell on them. The Penguin was turned into a little boy. ("Big Magic", Sins of Youth: Batboy and Robin 1, DC Comic Event)
