Summary: How your first encounter with SVT’s maknae line goes
I wasn’t much for blind dates, but after living in Seoul for a year, I decided to let my best friend set me up on one.
I got to the restaurant first, which I didn’t mind. I decided to take a seat at the bar while waiting.
This restaurant was pretty fancy, considering they had a fancy piano in the middle of the building with a very handsome pianist/singer performing.
He and I made eye contact the moment I sat down at the bar and I gave him a nod before ordering my drink.
He had the most beautiful voice I had ever heard, but I was there on a date. At least that’s what I assumed.
The dude never came. I stayed until the restaurant practically closed. But at least the singer was still there.
After hours of waiting for my blind date to show up, I decided it was time for me to leave. I paid my tab and made my way over to the piano and placed a tip for him since his voice kept me company the entire night.
“Your voice is very beautiful. I really enjoyed it.” I smiled at him and started to leave, before he stopped playing and caught my hand.
“Please, stay. I’d like to buy you dinner. The guy who stood you up is a loser.”
“I could just tell. My name is Dokyeom, but you can call me DK.”
Living in Seoul had its perks. One of which was food delivery services 24/7
So when I finally moved everything in and settled in my new apartment, the first thing I did was order pizza.
Not gonna lie, it was pretty late when I ordered and the guy who answered didn’t sound the least bit happy about it, but if you’re gonna offer a 24 hour pizza delivery service, you have to deal with someone actually ordering at late hours.
All I ordered was a large pepperoni pizza and some fried chicken. Shouldn’t be too hard, right?
Thirty minutes later there’s a knock on my door. I’m a little hangry at this point and the fact that they really waited thirty minutes to get me my food was a little irritating.
That is, until I saw the delivery guy. Man was he cute, and tall!
He clearly was not having it either, but stared the moment we made eye contact.
“I- uh,” He stuttered, “Here’s your pizza and your chicken.” He has a lisp, too? How much cuter can he get?
“Thanks.” I grabbed the food from him and set it on the table next to the door before handing him the money for the food. He took it from me, but before he could hand me the change, I stopped him. “Keep the change. As a ‘sorry for making you deliver food so late’.”
“It’s really no problem. My name’s Mingyu.”
Landing your first internship after graduating and moving across the ocean is usually supposed to be a fun experience.
But, I was beyond nervous for my first day. Why? I got put on my first shoot right away.
No introductions or training, just thrown in head first to my first shoot.
All they told me was that this guy was high profile and well-known for his artistry and dance.
Oh! And that he was always known to be the best dressed and fashionable man in China and South Korea. No pressure, right?
I’m looking through all of the clothes on set and the makeup and hair tools I have set up.
It’s a very glam shoot, which is what I’m more used to, so I calm down a bit, before he shows up.
When I say he, I mean Xu Minghao, super model and world reknown artist.
He walked in and all the senior stylists started working on him, until he noticed me standing there waiting to be told what to do.
He walked over to me and examined the table and the rack of clothes next to me. After taking his time, he looked over to the senior stylists and said, “I want her to work on me.”
“Don’t be nervous. I can tell your new just by how you organized everything. I’ll help you out if you have questions. Ok?” He’s so nice. Did I just land the best job ever?
“Uh- um, ok. Thank you, sajang-nim.” He smiled.
A vacation away from the hustle and bustle of the city was something I needed, and what better way to spend vacation than on an island? Jeju island to be more precise.
The day was beautiful, the sun was out, the breeze was just enough to keep us all cool… and there was random singing coming from the local cafe?
My friends and I walk over to the cafe to find a very cute boy entertaining the tourists by singing very cute songs and showing off his aegyo.
So of course I had to take a video of it. He was just so cute.
He kept going with his aegyo confidently, but the moment he saw me with my phone pointed right at him, he hid his face in his hands.
This made him even cuter!
“No, no! Please keep going!” I urged after he hid his face from all of us.
“Ah, no, this is really embarrassing. Especially in front of a pretty girl like you.” He gushed, making me blush behind my phone. My friends nudged me over to take a picture with him, to which I did.
“Thank you for the picture, uh-”
“Seungkwan. Why don’t I show you and your friends around Jeju?”
I always liked celebrating my birthday, more specifically, wherever there was a fair, amusement park, or arcade.
So of course I took a few friends to Lotte World for my birthday.
We walked around, rode rides, had some drinks, and now it was time to play some arcade games.
It wasn’t crowded like it normally is so it was easy to get around to each game.
But there was always one game that I dominated at, and that was the basketball game.
However, there was a very heated game going on with a bunch of guys so we decided to play the air hockey game next to it while we waited for our turn.
Not even two minutes into the game, I felt a basketball hit me right on the backside of my head.
Rubbing my head, I turned around to see a very handsome guy running to grab the ball.
“I am so sorry! It just bounced off of the hoop and shot right out.” He looked so flustered, I couldn’t help but giggle.
“You’re fine. It happens to all of us.” I said, trying to calm him down.
“Let me make it up to you. I can buy you a drink?” But I had a better idea.
“How about you go against me at that basketball game, and the loser buys?”
“You have a deal.” He shook my hand and smiled, showing his very perfect smile. “My name’s Vernon.”
One thing on my bucket list was to visit Seoul during the summer to join in on the water festival.
Water and festivals were two of my favorite things and here I was finally fulfilling this one thing on my list.
My best friend and I bought our water guns and loaded them up ready to shoot.
That’s when the chaos started, but it was the most fun chaos I had ever experienced
I was running out of water and so was my friend. We were just about to run over to the refill station when we were ambushed by a bunch of guys
Very attractive guys, might I add. About thirteen of them.
But one of them caught my attention, and he happened to be the one to soak me the most.
I screamed alongside my friend as we were soaked by the group of guys who surrounded us. As the water attack died down, my attention was caught by one member of the group. He had the widest grin and the most playful attitude about them. Once the water attack stopped, he walked up to me, his hand stretched out towards me.
“Truce.” I shook his hand and smiled back at him.
“My name is Chan. What’s yours?”
