Waiting a dozen minutes to reap the rewards sown during a cooking workshop is a pastime akin to torture.

Some habits bother Near more than others.

"Are you nervous?"

So much of her life has been spent between the same two boys: in playing pretend, in nostalgia, in war and in peace. Funny to think your lives really start tomorrow - an impossible endeavor; an insane leap of faith.

Yet as Katsuki holds one hand and Izuku holds the left, it doesn't feel like such a free fall.

(Would the public ever accept this?)

"Not a chance in hell," Katsuki states, the usual fire in his growl.

A silent squeeze jostles her left hand. Without looking, she knows Izuku's answer.

Not when we're together. Not with you.

Dean Winchester didn’t do nostalgia. Warm, happy memories always turned sad and bitter. A perfect apple pie life shattered before he was old enough to appreciate what he had.

He didn’t do nostalgia, but he collected regrets with an enthusiasts’ zeal. Things he’d done. Things he had longed to do. He cared, of course he cared. But whether it was stubbornness, pride, or… fear, he hadn’t told Cas how he truly felt when it mattered the most.

Just three little words.

Nostalgia was sepia toned, soft, fuzzy. But regrets were sharp, red, and black.

And he had so many regrets.

Day 9 - Nostalgia

There was a new batch of trainers setting out from pallet town, and Ash was there to see them off. He was home, visiting his pokemon at Professor Oak's ranch, and the professor had asked for Ash's help with the new trio of starters. And laying his eyes on the little charmander vibrating with excitement at the prospect of making new friends and exploring the world filled Ash with a sense of nostalgia.

Ash wouldnt change his Charizard for the world, but maybe a part of him did miss when the fire type was small enough to hold and carry.

Day 9: Nostalgia | Things you never said

“If you could go back in time, where would you go?” It was just a random question that he blurted out when we were on the subway.

“Definitely, the good old days back in high school.” I replied, sitting next to him.

Back then, I thought it was just a phase. I remember the way your laughter lit up the hallway. You were a math genius, but you pretended not to be. I couldn’t find that out until last year because you intentionally got low marks. How funny. Maybe it wouldn’t have changed a thing.

Most days, Liselotte gracefully handled Engetsu's amnesia. But sometimes, it was more difficult. 

Like today, when she had joked about being very good at hiding. Seeing his confused look, she had ignored the squeeze of her heart and told him about the time they had played hide-and-seek at the manor. She had been hidden so well, nobody had found her until the evening. Enrich and Richard had been crazy with worry, until they found her asleep in a pile of laundry. 

Finishing the story, she had been met with a blank stare. Some memories would live in her nostalgia only.

Diane sighed. Outside, the ruined metropolis was framed by the rising sun's rays, painting the wasteland with a hope no one left in the city felt.

She could still remember the old days before it fell. Nostalgia clouded her mind, reminding her of the deli around the block from her apartment, always there for someone looking for a bite. There had been movie theater where she and her friends hung out. And the art store...

Diane stared out the window. If only the world could go back to the way it was before it had all gone up in flames.

No Place Like Home

Sam and Barrett like to play a game with Old Earth quotes. I die a little inside when Sam mentions “some guy named Churchill.” They haven’t learned the truth about me yet. Only Sarah knows out of necessity, a condition that allows me to stay with Constellation since finding the Artifact with Argos.

To be from Old Earth, everything I loved is relegated to memories displayed in museums. Relics held by private collectors. Jokes made by ignorant plebes. I try not to be angry. But when nostalgia sweeps over me and the life I held dear is mocked, I fail.
