Here's an Instagram post for this one:
🌭 4 ingredients, 10 minutes, and a gravy that tastes like you stood over a stove all day (you didn't)
sausages went "bangers" for a reason — during WWI meat shortages they were padded with water and fillers, and had a habit of literally bursting with a bang in the pan 💥 the name outlived the rationing, the dish stuck around even longer
here's the whole recipe: 🧅 thick-sliced onions on the bottom 🌭 8 pork sausages on top (browned first if you've got 5 min — worth it) 🥣 beef stock + gravy granules whisked and poured over ⏱️ low 6-8 hrs or high 3-4 hrs, walk away
that's it. the onions basically melt into the gravy while you do literally anything else with your day 🧺
serve over mashed potato and let it soak up everything. proper British comfort food, dump-and-go style.
