So it's Spooky Season, got any facts about the Litwick Line?

A bit late for Halloween but Prof Yew has some fun facts about the Litwick line!

These spooky little guys are far more at home in modern cities than out in the woods, so many of their urban legends are just that, legends.

Litwicks play an important role in a lot of urban ecosystems and are basically fiery-pigeons at this point. Sometimes they are pest, sometimes they are beloved pets. It depends on the people they interact with.

Professor Yew is happy to investigate any common Pokemon misconceptions! So ask away.

Pokemon Card of the Day #3246: Dusk Stone (Unbroken Bonds)

Dusk Stone was an Item that let you break one of the typical rules of the game, but only if you were using very specific Pokemon. It hard you search your deck for a Mismagius, Honchkrow, Chandelure, or Aegislash, even if they were a GX, that evolved from 1 of your Pokemon in play and put it on the Pokemon to evolve it. Not only that, but you could use it on your first turn or on something that was just put into play.

This was mostly used with the Stage 1's on that list, namely Honchkrow-GX and especially Mismagius. This with Mismagius let you draw cards until you had 7 in your hand, but at the cost of that Pokemon and a Prize. Most decks wouldn't like the trade, but if you had to go through your deck as quickly as possible to get everything set up and could afford the Prize loss it could be worth it. In Expanded, this was another one of the cards that could let you get cards needed to mess with the opponent's hand before they could do anything, and while Dusk Stone was never banned there, the Mismagius it worked well with eventually was. In Standard, this was seen occasionally with Mismagius, mostly in Garchomp & Giratina-GX decks, and with the rather rare Honchkrow-GX to block certain cards from being played.

Pokemon Evolution Stones are up in my etsy now! Reminder that these are prototype tests and have imperfections as part of the learning process. The fire, water, and thunder stones look nice with under lighting. The dusk stones also look nice but it isn't as vibrant. The moon stones are too opaque and cannot be lit this way unfortunately.
