This new miniseries from Greg Pak, Khoi Pham and Scott Hanna offers a new take on the Xombi concept, a character from the original Milestone line back in the 1990s. It also marks the debut of the Earth-M line, “a collection of new concepts and characters created by original Milestone co-founder Denys Cowan and current Milestone relaunch shepherd Reginald Hudlin, both inspired by and nestled within the Milestone universe.” It’s about two lovers who end up fused together into one nanobot-powered superhero.

DC Comics Announces “Earth-M” Milestone Line Beginning with “Duo”

Milestone is growing. DC Comics has announced a new line of comics and characters inspired by and nestled in the Milestone universe from Milestone cofounder Denys Cowan and relaunch shepherd Reginald Hudlin. Earth-M is where these new concepts and characters will call home.

Duo is one of the first Earth-M titles and hails from author Greg Pak, penciler Khoi Pham, and inker Scott Hanna. Duo follows lovers Kelly Vu and David Kim, “both alike in scientific accomplishment, merged into one body through a nanotechnology experiment. While this has granted them extraordinary powers, it has also erased the boundaries between them. Can a love survive when all things must be shared and independence lost?” (DC Comics)

Duo #1 (of 6), featuring a main cover by Dike Ruan, a variant cover by Denys Cowan, and a 1:25 variant cover by Nimit Malavia, goes on sale on May 17, 2022.
