Another weak one, but oh well. I haven't had anything I'd really call a "vacation" since 2017 when my dad took me and my younger sibling down to North Carolina to see the eclipse.

We weren't quite in the "path of totality" (the original plan had been to go stay with some of Dad's relatives in Tennessee, but that fell through due to them not really being able to handle having three extra people stay at their place at the time) but we were pretty close. So I drew the eclipse itself (usually at least half-obscured by clouds) and the goofy little cardboard "eclipse glasses" we had to use to look at it without risking a case of Fried Eyes.

Back in the USA, just in time for the eclipse!

I was so tired last night after I got back to the states, but I’m proud of myself, I stayed up until about 10pm and then it was lights out! I think 10p is pretty good for 17 hours of travel! Crashed about 10p, up at 4a, what?! Not cool! I refused to get out of bed, so I stayed put…until about 630/7a, it was so good to snuggle deeper into the covers, and to be in my childhood bed, secure and safe…

i haven't really seen anyone talk about this here so i wanted to post this, but gently used eclipse glasses can be donated!

this refers to a place in the usa that's collecting them, but there's a lot of places in canada also accepting donations. i found this article that lists a bunch of places! you can either mail them in or drop them off!
