This is a long one!

As soon as Jane entered school in California she met you. It surprised her how quickly you came to her defense when Angela felt particularly bitter, so, basically everyday.

You defended her in class and everyone was shocked but specifically her. She looked over at you with wide eyes and a gaping mouth. Right after the bell rang, she rushed over to your desk and let out a shy yet meaningful Thank you.

The two of you became such close friends and she always wanted to be close to you and immediately asked Joyce if you could come over. Joyce, Jonathan and Will were so relieved that she made a friend in that hell-hole so they didn't deny you the opportunity to come over.

They all showed appreciation for your kindness towards her since no one in that school took time out of their day to be truly nice.

Jane and you would have sleepovers where the two of you had to quietly giggle at what the other had said. When you made a joke about Angela she would gasp, slap her hand over her mouth and let out a breathy laugh.

You'd take her to get ice cream, show her your music taste, give her a little fashion show of your new clothing, offer to help style her and take her to your favorite spots.

You made her feel as if she were floating on the fluffiest clouds that had ever been formed. She would gush about you in her letters that were for Mike so much to the point where she had to erase some sentences so he wouldn't question: who is she? Who are you?

The way she wrote about you was so sweet and innocent she couldn't help but wonder, who wouldn't want to hear about you?

!Alert! Mike's jealousy wouldn't like to hear!

Jane found herself yearning to be near you all the time. Whenever something interrupted that she had to contain her mental meltdown.

A long thought that would make a long appearance in her head is, "how do I tell her about Hawkins? Should I?" Ever since she met you she knew that she had to protect you, she wanted and needed to. The last thing Jane wanted to do was scare you away and make you think she was psychotic because of the stories she had about her experiences.

She feels so strongly about you, a bit similar with how she felt with Mike but this was...better and sweeter. Don't get me wrong, they had been through a lot together but you made her feel a lot better than Mike was currently treating her. It was only through letter but she could tell, he wasn't in it.

I mean, he couldn't even say he loved her meanwhile she practically screamed it out so easily at the end of every letter. She remembers one day before you left her house you hugged her, said your goodbyes and right after you let out an I love you.

It left your mouth so smoothly and it surprised her. She had become familiar with the fact that friends would often say this to each other but she wanted to hear you say it all the time. She didn't waste longer than a second before saying it back.

Eventually, Mike would come to California to visit. You went to the airport with the whole crew in order to meet him and to ease Jane's and Will's nerves. The tension that was created was so suffocating you wondered how having a simple conversation with Mike would be like. You knew he was familiar with you and how you made Jane feel.

She hesitantly took the flowers he gathered for her because she wished they were from you-

But she has to shove those thoughts down very quickly.

You were there for the Rink-O-Mania incident but you didn't just sit there and watch with wide eyes as Jane was repeatedly humiliated. As you always do, you stuck up for her.

You punched your way through the circling crowd that pointed and chuckled at Jane, picking her up when you reached her. She looked at you with a humiliated expression before quickly taking your hand.

You fully supported her decision to knock on Angela's head with a roller skate. You didn't villainize her like Mike very vocally did, instead, you reassured her as you sat next to her in Argyle's van. Jonathan and him also reassured her but in a humorous way.

When she stormed off to her bedroom because of Mike's remark during dinner, she grabbed your hand and took you with her. When you slightly questioned her about it she mumbled a mournful "I just need you" as she looked at you with glossy doe eyes.

You sat on her bed as she took her spot next to you and asked "Do you hate me?" "I could never hate you, Janie." She looked at you with eyes that had such sadness in them you completely crumbled under their gaze. "You promise?" "I promise."

Her hand made it's way towards the side of your cheek as she leaned in and gave you a strong kiss.

DATING JANE ELEVEN "EL" HOPPER WOULD INCLUDE:

baking el eggos whenever she wants

the two of you love to dance and listen to music

defending el against her bullies at school

comforting el when she misses hopper

you enjoy making eleven flower crowns and putting ribbons in her hair, she thinks they're cute and wears them with pride

the two of you leaving cute little notes in each others lockers between class periods

you ask will for some of his paint supplies sometimes and he hesitantly agrees, ending up in goofy paint sessions between you and your girlfriend — paint all over both of you

cuddling in her room late at night, whispering about what you both want to do after high school and other mundane things

you help mrs. byers ("oh please, call me joyce honey!") cook sometimes and el smiles at the two of you, heart about to burst.

giving will a muse for his paintings sometimes

laughing at johnathan and argyle's stupid high conversations while eleven and will roll their eyes with small grins on their faces

did i mention that the byers-hopper family LOVES YOU?

boosting up jane's confidence by always telling her she looks beautiful

when eleven defeated vecna you hugged her and showered her with as much affection as you could

tearing up when el reunited with hopper

getting introduced by your girlfriend to the party and all of them quickly welcoming you with open arms

helping el adjust to her powers again

you were shocked at first about your girlfriend being telekinetic, but once you got used to it you thought it was really fucking cool

being close friends with dustin, lucas and mike

going with el to visit max at the hospital every so often, leaving a teddy bear and flowers you picked out of somebody's garden

soothing her when she cries at night and placing kisses all over her face, reassuring her

using el's powers to play pranks on the other members of the party sometimes

asking the older members of the party for relationship advice

going to the movies and holding hands while the credits roll

putting el onto all kinds of new snacks

always having to be holding her hand or touching her in some kind of way

el coming to you with all of her problems and you happily listening and helping where you can.

You’re such an integral part of the Byers family!! I mean, its the Byers right?? They all love and care for each other so much; being in this family feels like walking through the front door and immediately being wrapped up in a warm, fuzzy blanket straight out from the dryer. It’s incredible, and heartfelt, and so full of true kindness and understanding and hope. Every single person in this family just feels like a piece of home, and so when you’re with anyone one of them you’ll never be too far away from where you belong. 

As soon as your school bags are dumped at the front door and shoes kicked off, you usually end up collapsed down onto Will’s bed for a well deserved after school nap. You wake up with blurred vision to see Will standing in the corner, biting the corner of his lip in concentration as one of his sable brushes dabs at his easel. Ever since he learnt that Mike was due to visit for the Spring Break, he’s spent most of his afternoons painting some mysterious painting he won’t let anyone else see in his room, listening to the mixtape Jonathan made him in Hawkins all those years ago. As you yawn and stretch, you manage to stumble up and grab his wrist, dragging him away from his concentrated work with only a slight eye roll and grumble before the two of you end up having a massive dance party.

Jonathan likes to cook you breakfast each day; the early morning sunrise watch has become an integral part of both your days. Since he likes to wake up a little earlier anyway, mainly because after everything that’s happened to his family over the last couple of years, he appreciates the company of his younger sibling during this quiet solitude. It’s so peaceful and haven-like in comparison to the wild hurricane that is Hawkins: he gets up around 5:30 a.m. to make pancakes, and that’s where you find him when you wander into the kitchen bleary eyed a little while later. With a smile, he gathers up the two plates in his arms while you handle the glasses of orange juice, and the two of you climb out to sit on the porch for a while before school. Between chews, he enthusiastically fills you in on all the drama that’s been going on behind the scenes of the photography department at school, looking more content than he ever has against the flaxen threads of the sun’s clambering reach. He makes sure to always give you an extra tight, bone crushing, lifting you off the ground kind of hug before the two of you go back in to pack your bags and wake your siblings up for the day: just to let you know that he’s always there to talk as your big brother, and that love will never change or disappear.

Jane’s favourite thing to do when the two of you are off school for the weekend (and Will has managed to sneakily call Lucas and convince him to invite Mike round to his) is to have a ‘sleepover’ extravaganza! Just two days chock to the brim of Will banging on your shared wall to keep the noise down as you blare ‘Madonna’ and ‘Blondie’ tapes; you ignore him, choosing instead to wipe off the shadow from Jane’s furrowed face and try out the next eye colour in the palette. The amount of time Jim has come swinging the door open to try and call the two of you (for the hundredth times, he adds with an amused huff) to the dinner table, only to find the two of you splayed over her bed with comics over your eyes and heavy groaning. It doesn’t take him long to put two and two together: the empty candy packets littered around the rug and the way you’re gripping your stomachs still isn’t enough to stop the two of you sharing a chocolate whipped cream ice cream sundae after dinner though, even if your dad is shaking his head at the two of you every time you scoop your spoons.

Movie nights are always the best at the Byers’ house, especially with Joyce as your mother! It’s always an event: Will and Jane spend half the time arguing about which movie to watch, before they eventually play rock paper scissors to agree on one and clamber down next to each other on the sofa. Jonathan invites Argyle round, and the two of them squash up to share an armchair together; they’re already comfortably settled by the time the decision’s made, Argyle explaining his new theory on the concept of alien life between mouthfuls of shoved popcorn, and Jonathan’s nearly asleep as he nods along from time to time. Jim and Joyce are happily reclining back on the other settee, and as soon as you come running in before Will switches the television set on, Joyce is beaming at you and thumping the cushion next to her: the spot she always leaves reserved for you. The night always ends with you falling asleep curled into Joyce’s side, and bless her heart she’ll just stroke her hand down the side of your cheek and not move a muscle until Jim comes to pick you up and carry you back to bed.

Hopper, one spring, decided that you and Will needed to upgrade your little 'Castle Byers’ hideout in the wood; he decided it would be a much safer option to build you a treehouse by the desert cassia trees in the backyard. You and your brother spend so much time playing D&D up in your little bubble away from the rest of the world, managing to even convince Joyce to get a couple of bean bags and a new easel to put up there too. Plus, it’s always makes you laugh when Will sticks his head out the trapdoor like a meerkat and rolls up the ladder anytime Jonathan’s sent out to try and bring the two of you back in at night.

Speaking of hugs - Jonathan may give the nicest ones at the start of the day, but boy does Hop gives the greatest hugs ever. He always makes sure he’s back home on time now: no more staying late at the police station, he now realises his family is where his greatest priorities, and greatest joy lies. As soon as you’re in the front door and have sagged your backpack down the ground with a thump, Jim’s waiting there with a huge grin and open arms for you to run into his chest. With your face smushed up against his t-shirt, and his strong arms wrapping you up in cherishment, all the stress of the day just melts away as you sag against your dad.

Just - when you’re sitting round at the dinner table, the laughter and mirth and conversation whipping about and flowing easily between all of you - everything manages to feel alright again.

Random headcanon:

When El gets worked up she forgets words. And her English is hardly understandable. It's more like a collection of single words then sentences. She feels small like she's 12 all over again lost in the woods and alone and it makes her hysterical. She feels that way a little after Max's accident

And Mike and Max are the only ones who can understand her well enough to help most of the time.

was the first to show interest in you

she didn’t know how to approach you, so she dropped in on you in the void a couple times

until she garnered the confidence to ask you out, catching you completely off guard, because you too had been wanting to approach her

loves ice cream but refuses to totally enjoy some without you

is very big on affection once she learned how to properly express it

loves to do your hair as you love to do hers

keeps a diary, you’re the only person allowed to read it

loves playing spin the bottle with just the two of you, totally eliminating the game aspect whatsoever

is an excellent listener to you always although some phrases and words may be harder for her to comprehend when spoken swiftly

her love language is a little bit of everything. she mainly just loves you, being able to spoil you, be with you and touching you in every way

she loves handholding, usually a palm to palm type, and will hold your hand wherever in front of whoever

very into being able to please you correctly, wanting to know more and more about your body

Guys, so I know people (including myself) want Eddie to return in Season 5 as Kas, Vecna’s right hand man/person according to DnD lore.

But Hear me out….

realistically speaking, what if it’s Will or El instead? Both of them already have ties to Vecna given that Will is still controlled by Vecna/Henry/001 in a sense. Doesn’t that mean if he wanted to, all he’d have to do is “flip a switch” and use Will as a vessel? We saw what he was capable of making him do in Season 2. Just a thought i had.
