Another fankid, Agapinho! His character’s got some interesting stuff going on in my head at the moment. But for right now he’s half Afro-Brazilian on his mother’s side. May or may no have a couple AUs already ‘cause I’m split on where to take him. Also, yes he’s a giant. no his powers have no relation to that whatsoever.

Welcome to the world.. Diana Madrigal

Well, this is basically the story of how Diana (my oc) was adopted by Bruno… hope you like it!

Bruno woke up covered in sweat. He sat in his hammock as he tried to calm his erratic breath and his running heartbeat. It wasn’t the first time; he would always have nightmares. Sometimes they were prophecies, sometimes they were just bad dreams. He could never be sure, but this one left him particularly worried. In his dreams, he saw a young woman with a huge pregnant belly, he could tell she was suffering, hardly walking to a place he was familiar with, it was by the river, on the border of the Encanto. He didn’t know that woman, he had never seen her in his whole life, maybe she was just a product of his imagination and everything was just a weird dream. After knocking some wood and throwing salt, Bruno tried to go back to sleep.

But he was still worried, what if she was real? What if he could help her and instead, he was ignoring it on behalf of his sleep? That’d be incredibly selfish. So, he heads to his vision cave decided to find the truth. Once there, he starts lurking into the future in the hopes of finding that mysterious female figure, but he finds nothing. All he sees are two babies in the nursery. One of them was her baby niece Luisa, but the other one? It didn’t make sense… Maybe Pepa was pregnant again. He gives up after a while of not seeing the woman again. A little upset and a little annoyed, he decides to go back to sleep, praying to have nicer dreams this time.

But he’s not able to sleep again, haunted by his most recent dream, Bruno decides to wake up and go to the border of the Encanto. He’s pretty much aware that he might find nothing, but he still has the feeling that someone needs him there. He sneaks out as quietly as possible with the help of casita. He doesn’t say much, but the house seems to understand it was important to him, so it helps.

Bruno had no idea what time it was when he left Casita, but the sun wasn’t even in the sky yet. Bruno heads to the mountains unsure about what to expect. It takes him some hours to get to the place of his dreams. So, when finds the place empty, he just mumbles a curse, mad at himself for not being able to differentiate the real prophecies from his dreams. With resignation, the man decides to head back home and try to sleep some more when he hears a cry for help.

He turns back to see the woman of his now confirmed vision hardly walking. Her brown hair was long and dirty, just like her clothes. And although she carried a pregnant belly, you could tell she had barely eaten in a long time. She was pale and the bags under her eyes made her look even more ill. Scared, Bruno helped the woman to stand up.

— Are you okay? — he asked — who are you? What happened to you?

— M-my baby — cried the woman — I think she’s coming. Please, help me.

Bruno didn’t know what to do, he could run back home and bring Julieta, but that would take too much time and she couldn’t give birth in a place like that; besides, she was too weak… he needed to take her to Casita as fast as he could.

— Alright, calm down — started Bruno while helping her to walk — I’ll take you to my house, you’ll be safe there.

The woman tried to thank him, but it was obvious the contractions were too painful, so Bruno decides to distract her in some way:

— What’s your name? — he asks, noticing they hadn’t introduced themselves to each other yet.

— I’m Elizabeth — says the girl with difficulty. Bruno introduces himself and Elizabeth gives him a little smile before making another face.

— Don’t think about it — says Bruno — Just take a deep breath… Exactly. Keep going, that’s what helped my sisters when they were in labor.

—You have sisters? — Elizabeth asked curiously.

Bruno shakes his head in confirmation and in an attempt to distract her, he starts telling her about his family: his mother Alma, his sisters Julieta and Pepa, her brothers in law and his three nieces. He talks about anything that comes to his mind, his rats, the telenovelas he creates… He even tells her about the magic. Initially, she was skeptical about it, but after Bruno tells her about how he found her, Elizabeth chooses to believe.

During the time it takes them to get to the Madrigal house, Bruno has the chance to know more about Elizabeth. She was from a faraway place, where she had to work in her uncle’s shop from a young age. He would treat her more like a servant rather than a niece, so she eloped with a stranger that promised her the world, only to dump her in the middle of nowhere when they found out she was pregnant. Heartbroken and with no place to go, Elizabeth had wandered around the valley looking for somewhere to stay until she got to the river.

The more they talk, the more Bruno likes Eli (how she asked to be called). He doesn’t just feel sorry for her, he likes her sense of humor, her sarcasm and the clever answers she gives when the pain is not too much. She even gives him new plots and ideas for the telenovelas instead of thinking of him as a freak. He doesn’t mention it, but Bruno hopes they can be good friends in the future.

The time passes and Bruno can tell it is getting harder for Eli to walk, even if at this point, she was mostly holding onto Bruno. By now, he’s just thankful Eli hadn’t had the baby yet (even though they had to stop because she thought she was about to a couple of times)

Luckily, the sun was already starting to rise and the Madrigal house was already on sight, making Bruno smile. Bruno wouldn’t say a word, but he was already exhausted, so he used the last of his strength to get home.

— Do you already have names for the baby? — asked Bruno.

— Diana. — responds the future mother, making a smirk.

— What if he’s a boy? — asks Bruno jokingly.

— It’s a girl, I know it — says Elizabeth stubbornly, Bruno just laughs a little bit before teasing her again.

They finally arrive to casita. At this point, the pain is unbearable and all Elizabeth does is cry. She’s even more pale if possible and Bruno couldn’t hold her much longer. Casita helps Bruno to take her inside and wakes up the rest of the family, who was already alarmed by the noise.

— Bruno! What’s going on? — asked an alarmed Alma, Pepa and Julieta arrived a few seconds after.

— I– I had a vision, so I went to–to the… the river- starts Bruno exhausted – and I found her.

Julieta doesn’t understand a thing, but she asks casita to take the woman to her room to take care of her. She can tell the woman is about to give birth and that has to be her priority. Alma and Bruno follow her while Pepa runs to the kitchen to get some food and other supplies. Bruno does his best to support Elizabeth, holding her hand and whispering words of encouragement through the whole process.

— I told you it was a girl— mumbles a very weak Eli, once the baby is out. Alma holds the newborn while Julieta tries to give Eli some food.

— Yes… yes… you were right— says Bruno, relieved.

The baby was still crying, but the shooting voice of Alma was starting to make an effect on her, calming her down

—I’m always right — tries to joke Eli, but her eyes start to close — Bruno… I know it’s a lot but… please… take care of her…

— No, no, no— starts repeating Bruno in denial— you’re going to get better… we just need more food, you’ll see.

But Elizabeth just shakes her head, she’s too weak. Her mouth feels like it's full of sand, she can barely talk and as much as she tries, she’s not even able to have a bite of food.

—Promise me…— Bruno shakes his head with his eyes full of tears— Dile que la amo— and so she closes her eyes forever.

Destroyed, Bruno starts crying over the woman’s dead body, apologizing and begging her to stay. He barely knew that woman, but he can only think about how much she had suffered and how little she had lived.

And her baby… Bruno looks up to see the destroyed faces of her mother and sister. Julieta’s eyes were full of tears, the guilt tripping over her for not being able to save Eli. By her side, Alma is in shock, still holding a now asleep baby close to her chase, being unable to believe what just happened. He slowly stands up to take the little girl in his arms. She looks so tiny and defenseless; How could he abandon her just like that? The sole thought of the baby going through the same hell her mother went through breaks his heart, and he can’t help to hold her close to his chest.

— Hijo, ¿what are you going to do now? — asks Alma softly.

— I’m keeping my promise mamá — says Bruno in the same tone.

The little girl opens her eyes again, she doesn’t cry anymore, she just looks at Bruno innocently, who starts rocking her again, mumbling the same song her mama sang some minutes ago.

— Welcome to the world Diana… Diana Madrigal.

Aight, I caved. 

Alvero now has two twin sisters! Originally intended to be his younger sisters, I didn’t quite like that, so now they’re triplets! Alvero’s the oldest, Eliana’s in the middle, and Nélida’s last.

Alvero

The oldest triplet!

Given the gift of talking to ghosts ( totally makes “I see Dead People” jokes ). 

Won’t say a lot about him, because I already talked about him here.

I will change one thing though - he knew his dad was in the walls, instead of not having him. Him and his sisters discovered the wall hideout at a young age, and kept their dad up to date on the family tea.

Eliana

The middle triplet!

Given the gift of creating / manipulating portals. 

Wants to see everything the Encanto ( and the world beyond! ) has to offer. 

Definitely the most outspoken of the three - will defend her siblings to the death. 

Unintentionally causes trouble around the house by opening up portals and just. appearing places. Falls into the kitchen through the ceiling type beat. 

Nélida

The youngest triplet!

Given the gift of invisibility. 

Thanks to her power, she’s been exposed to a Lot of gossip unintentionally - hangs out with Dolores a lot because of this. 

Was probably the one to discover Bruno’s hidey-hole. Was it from Dolores? Was it just on her own? Who knows. 

She’s the triplet that wears her heart on her sleeve - the quiet one who offers comfort to her siblings and cousins.
