PART 7 - Lunch dates and Lunch nightmares

Barty is on a mission. He and Evan are on the streets of London to figure out what to get Remus to get him out of his slump. He has not left his room in a week because of the spy reveal, but they were confident they could get him out. The animagus business was taking too long, so they had to figure out a short-term solution. He also forgot to tell his discovery to the others, so becoming an animagus will take a minute. Regulus could not join because he was summoned to lunch by sweet, sweet Walburga. Barty got goosebumps whenever she was mentioned. As someone who had met her face-to-face, he would never want to see her again. Barty was also excited because he hadn't been out and about with just Evan for a while. Evan was his favorite person in the world. Even though Regulus was his first friend, he and Evan just got each other. He loved to spend time with him. This London trip was the perfect opportunity after a long while. Barty is going to make the most of it.

Evan was nervous. He and Barty have not spent much time alone together in a few months. After seeing what happened to Sirius and Remus, he is even more scared to reveal his feelings to Barty. Remus and Sirius were just as close as they were, and seeing Remus going through the aftermath of being abandoned by his best friend, Evan knew he could not go through that.  Barty was truly the only person who knew him inside out, aside from Pandora. He does not need a romantic relationship; he just needs Barty. Still, the trip to London felt like a date. They went to the coffee shop that Regulus and Remus told them about, got a few records for Evan’s apartment, got lunch in a cute restaurant, and then found the perfect gift for Remus. Four tickets to a David Bowie concert. Remus will wet himself when he sees them. What a successful day.

Regulus has not been to Grimmauld Place for more than six months. He had told his mother that he was busy with the missions the Dark Lord gave him, and it was easier to live away from home and take care of business. The last time he was here, it was his father’s funeral. When his mother invited him to lunch, he wanted to refuse, but it seems he is still a little afraid of her, so he accepted. Now sitting at the table with his parent, Bellatrix, Narcissa, and her foul husband, He wishes he had said no. Bellatrix is harping on about her last mission, where she killed several Muggle-borns. His mother is eating it up. He thinks back to his time with the Lupins, wishing he were having lunch with them instead. It hit him that he considered Hope closer to a mom than his own mother. Then Bellatrix started talking about the last stages of the Dark Lord’s plan. The night of Halloween of 1981.

Remus could not believe that Barty and Evan got him Bowie tickets. Sometimes he forgot that people could see him. Not just look at him, but see the person he is. Lately, he felt that he was just a tool for people to use and get what they want, but this one concert ticket reminded him that he did not need James, Sirius, or Peter to feel like a human. They even got him coffee from his favorite coffee shop. Someone still knew his favorite drink and favorite artist. Someone still looked out for his well-being. They would be there first thing in the morning, after the moon, to tend to his wounds and to take him to the charity book shop when he felt like shit. In that moment, Remus realized he was seen.

“You could always come home with me,” Gideon offered. “God knows we have the room, and Mum loves having new people to brag to about Dad’s campaign.”

Sirius paused in his walk, Gideon stopping a few paces ahead, their hands still linked.

“Are you joking? You’d want me to come home with you for Christmas?” he asked.

Gideon thought about it for a moment, a small smile on his lips as he stared at his boyfriend.

“If you need a break, I don’t see why not,” he said. “I’d like waking up with you on Christmas and “showing you around the town I grew up in. It’d be fun.”

i'm currently working on something that i have not seen anyone write about 🤓 but like i actually am planning it, like full on notes on my notebook and pairings and plot twist.. the ships i'll be using are bartylus, wolfstar, marylene, jily, pandorcas and evan rosier x edgar bones (rosebones) but i'm excited for it and it's lowkey a sport but nobody ever talks about it so.. yay.

Part 6 - Comfort and Hurt

Regulus cannot believe Voldemort is hating on Muggles when they have amazing things like a Tele-vision. The pictures don’t even loop; they keep going. Hope invited him to help her bake her famous Carrot cake. He thinks he might even get the recipe. She introduced him to daily soaps in that meeting, and he never looked back. He even made Evan get a Tele-Vision( just call it a TV regulus-Remus) in his apartment. He enjoys Muggle music too now. He does not like the music Remus usually listens to, but does not mind the vocational Bowie or Queen song. Regulus also did not realize he would love going to coffee shops with Lupin so much. Remus has been down in the dumps for some time now, so Regulus likes to take him out to hang out outside the Wales house or Evan’s apartment, and they have started going to this Parisian-inspired coffee shop in Soho. The coffee is nice, but Regulus feels a sense of calm just sitting there at their window-side table and talking about nothing. They both read books, or Remus writes in his journal sometimes. He wishes that even after the war ends (hopefully soon), they could stay like this.

Barty has decided to do his own research when everyone else is busy. He has decided to find out how to help Remus’s full moons. The decision was solidified in his head after the last full moon, when Remus almost died on the floor of his shed from tearing himself apart. Remus has given him a lot in the past few months. He spends most of his free time in Wales now, spending time with Hope, Lyall, and Remus, helping them out around the house or lazing around. Remus is also a great friend. Barty is pained to say that about a Gryffindor, but it’s the truth. He misses Dorcas and Pandora; they were the sane ones in the group (at least Dorcas was). Now with Remus there, the gap left by them is somewhat filled. He cannot replace them, but it's nice to have him around. He is a great listener, just like Hope. After going through a considerable part of the forbidden section, Barty got his hands on a book about Werewolves that had a lot of notes. There was a huge word written on top of them, “Animagus”. A lightbulb went on in Barty’s head.

Evan hated the Death Eater meetings. They were ridiculous and downright horrible for the most part. All the wizards are talking about their kills and how many Muggle wizards they got rid of in the last month or so. Evan was waiting to destroy the Horcruxes and be free from all this nonsense. Regulus, Barty, and he stayed in the back and tried to attract as little attention as possible. The dark lord still favors Regulus because he gave him Kreacher and Barty. After all, well, Barty is crazy, so Evan gets by easily with them by his side. The May meeting was going smoothly as usual when Evan saw someone familiar. Someone who should not have been there. He told Regulus to confirm his suspicions, and there he was, the “rat”. There, among all the powerful Death Eaters, stood Peter Pettigrew. What a headache, Evan thought.

Remus was knitting with his mom again. It usually took his mind off things. He stopped going to Order meetings again because Dumbledore thinks it will make the actual spy complacent if the others still thought he was the traitor. It made sense, so Remus decided to put his feelings aside and wait for the spy to get sloppy. Apparently, today was the day. Remus received an owl from Dumbledore to meet him in his office ASAP. That was never a good sign. Saying bye to his mom, Remus flooed straight to the headmaster’s office, where all his other friends were already there. Again, not a great sign. Then it happened, the proof he wanted for so long was there. Peter was the spy. Peter was the “rat”. Even though Remus knew this in the back of his mind, getting a confirmation made it so real. His best friend of 11 years had gone ahead and betrayed everyone he held dear. What a fucking doozy.

Hopefully, Remus catches a break soon! I cannot believe I'm on part 6 already. This is my first-ever writing project, like ever, so I am proud of myself. Hope you like the update. We are almost at the end of the war.
