There is no restful sleep for them, our friends the metal monsters. They have not yet learned to dream, to hope, to settle their weary forms with unspoken prayers for a tomorrow that tolls more kindly. There is, there isn’t, there is again to these mechanistic minds, no subtle liminality between consciousness and oblivion. Be understanding, O chemical creatures, for you also had to discover the joy of rest.
Enervation // Simone & Regulus
The pressures that came with Regulus’ new responsibilities were draining, both physically and emotionally. It had led to many sleepless nights, trying to fit in the extra studying he was doing along with Quidditch and prefect rounds. He regretted how laid back he had been when it had come to his studies in the previous years. Mediocre grades just wouldn’t cut it any more, he would be the head of the family one day. He was completely unprepared for the lack of time he would have when cramming everything else in.
He had pulled an all night study session, spreading his books across an entire desk in the Slytherin Common Room. He got bored far too easily, and his procrastination had led to having to do several essays all at once. He knew it had become morning when he saw several students leaving their dormitories to head to breakfast, and he let out a pained moan. He knew he’d have to go down and eat, but he couldn’t remember ever feeling less hungry than he did currently. He was actually slightly nauseated.
And insanely tired.
His eyelids were struggling not to close, physical strain needed just to keep himself from passing out on the desk. Reluctantly, he stood, trying to wake himself up. Only to walk a few places and collapse onto one of the green leather sofas as his legs gave out.
“Merlin..” He murmured to himself as he rolled onto his back. A moment later, he spotted the familiar blonde hair of his classmate. “Selwyn, a hand?”

Do your relationships/Does your relationship fill you with energy or have you been in a state of chronic enervation for a long time. Do the people in your life enervate you like energy vampires, or do they support your dreams and ambitions. Do they feel vital and alive?
This is a useful word to talk about the quality of our relationships, and the way our relationships affect us. It can be easy to overlook this feeling—drained, tired, empty. It’s important to study this feeling (like all others, especially those that are frequent in your psyche) to discover their source and their purpose in your life.
