Um, I don't really agree... my dad is an INFJ and we annoy the hell out of each other
That’s fair! Though I would say that relatives hit differently than others. I always find it hard to type people who I’ve known for a long time. Additionally, I sometimes find it difficult to apply generalities about a given type to a friend or family member whose types I’ve identified.
On top of this, your preferential types isn’t just a function of your personality type but it’s got to do with how the rest of your cognitive functions line up as well in addition to environmental factors. I know ENTPs who don’t prefer INFJs, and that’s perfectly normal! I personally have a serious thing about intuition + external feeling being in other people (and I’m pretty sure it has to do with my urge to blend in and fear of not being accepted by groups of people)... but the point is it’s not based on me being an ENTP alone!
On top of top of this, societal factors including gender, race, how you grew up etc. play a huge role in what you search for and why even. So when I talk about INFJs being my type I’m fully meaning me ;).
Dear Personality Dealership:
So, I’ve been leasing ENFJ for 34 years (although on an unrelated note, I think maybe something’s off in the alignment, because it’s been behaving more like ENFP lately...), but I think I’m ready for something more...streamlined?
...Do you maybe have a model with fewer buttons? INTJ, perhaps?
Sincerely, Me
How do all you other ENFJs out there who don't work in a helping/caring profession (i.e. not teachers, counsellors, doctors, etc) deal with having a job that doesn't satisfy that part of you? I've been out of a helping profession for three years now and it's driving me mad. (I had been a TA for five years but finished my grad degree and now am out in industry.) I've been trying to bring meaning into my life in other ways, but I feel fundamentally out of tune with myself 8+ hours a day and it's starting to drain me.
Could you post all the ENFJ that could be voted on round 1 please ? Love your work
It was most of the list of ENFJs you can find under ALL TYPED CHARACTERS on my blog. I excluded some anime characters that are under reexamination.

ENFJ/ISTJ Relationship
As Romantic Partners: Despite neither type being the “ideal” match for the other, they can work surprisingly well together. In a world of artifice and fakers, both types will cherish each others genuineness. ISTJs will be happy to find someone who will try their best to understand them and support their lifestyle, and ENFJs will appreciate the groundedness and dependability ISTJs bring to the table. Both types enjoy clean, orderly, and organized homes, and both prefer a stable schedule. As always, there are some negatives this couple will need to work around, mainly the ENFJs desire to spare the other person’s feelings and tell a half-truth (or even a lie) that’ll they think will please them more than the actual truth, contrasting with the ISTJs habit of just saying things as they are and not sparing feelings at all. To learn to live harmoniously, the ENFJ must learn to avoid putting on a show or pretending to be something they’re not, and just ask for attention or love if they need it. The ISTJ needs to learn how to be more sensitive and softer in the way they communicate to their ENFJ. Both types simply want each other’s love, support, and dedication, making them excellent romantic partners. As Friends: With friendships, these two types will either be the best of friends or rarely speak at all. The determining factor is whether the ENFJ finds the ISTJ sufficientally interesting to sit with and learn more about them, as the ISTJ will usually find ENFJs overwhelming and rarely, if ever, seek one out as a friend. If the ENFJ does tone down their outgoingness a little and genuinely wants to become closer to the ISTJ, the latter will oblige and they will become very close friends. The ENFJ will be impressed by the work ethic and dependability of the ISTJ and the ISTJ will secretly admire the ENFJ’s way of communicating with others so effectively. They will most likely have sufficientally different interest that they will take pleasure in teaching each other and growing as individuals together. As group partners in school or at work, the ENFJ will usually be the visionary and create inspired ideas, and the ISTJ will find a way to make these ideas work that is uniquely theirs. In the end, both types will admire each others strengths and help each other work through their weaknesses. Note, that this sort of close relationship takes many years to form, as ISTJs are slow types when it comes to developing close trust; but if the ENFJ regularly shows interest, both types will pull through and emerge closer than ever. As Aquaintances: From across the classroom or work environment, the ISTJ will strike the ENFJ’s interest and respect as someone who is trustworthy and gets things done. The ENFJ will probably try working with the ISTJ at least once, in an attempt to see how the latter works in a group, and will usually be impressed by their work ethic. The ISTJ will appreciate the ENFJ’s work in presentations or group activities, and admire their ability to breeze through the classroom or workplace so confidently, lifting everyone’s spirits as they go along. As Enemies: ENFJs and ISTJs are rarely enemies, and if they are, it would usually be because of an honest remark the ISTJ made about the ENFJ, and with the former being coldly honest and the latter being oversensitive, an enmity could arise. The ENFJ as an enemy is rarely pleasant, and will most likely spread rumours or speak negatively about the ISTJ behind their back. As a relatively popular person, the ENFJ’s attempt to discredit the ISTJ will likely succeed and many people will hear about the horrible thing said ISTJ did. Meanwhile, the ISTJ will probably confide in their closest friends about the ENFJ but other than that ignore the issue and avoid the ENFJ. The ISTJ will probably find the argument not worth their time and do their best to forget about the entire situation. If the issue is very serious, they will confide in and seek help from a higher authority, such as a trusted teacher or adult, for advice more than anything. They will always do whatever they feel is the best thing to do, so they have no qualms about being harsh towards an enemy ENFJ, if that is what needs to be done. Hope you enjoyed that thorough analysis! If there’s a specific mbti relationship you’d like me to analyze, just message me! :)
