Even though Hollywood knows that cultural accuracy is better and people will prefer it they still choose to cast Americans for other ethnicities to play. Like they shouldn't act surprised when people complain about inaccuracies

Hollywood is more interested in appealing to the Americans than anyone else. It makes sense, that’s their base. And actually I wouldn’t mind if they hired Americans for other ethnicities as long as they were accurate / convincing in their representations, which is nearly never the case.

During this wonderful time where people from China, Korea, Japon and parts of the South East asian territory, with movies like Crazy Rich Asians and Always Be My Maybe; and the African Americans and Black people are getting very well deserved positive representation that challenges destructive stereotypes, thanks to Black Panther or the wonderful casting news of Halle Bailey as Ariel (amongst many other amazing casting decisions that challenge the stereotypes such as Zendaya as MJ and Candice Patton’s Iris) please please don’t forget to also fight for Latino Representation. We need to see more of this beautiful community beyond the “Drugs and violence” stereotypes that Hollywood keeps on delivering. We need to see not only Mexico, but Chile, Colombia, Peru, Ecuador. Latinamerica is not solely composed by Mexico and it’s unfair to except just one country to represent a multicultural continent.
