The Avars are a northeast caucasian people inhabitants of the region of Avaristan, officially in Russia. They speak avar. They are Sunni muslim. There are around 1.3 millions of them.

The Tabasaran are a northeast caucasian people inhabitants of the region of Tabasaranstan officially in Russia. They speak the tabasaran language. They are Sunni muslim. There are around 150 000 of them.

The Ingush are a northeast caucasian people inhabitants of the region of Ingushetia, officially in Russia. They speak Ingush. They are Sunni muslim. There are around 500 000 of them.

The Circassians are a northwest caucasian people inhabitants of the region of Circassia, officially in Russia. Most of them live in Turkey, thought. They speak circassians dialects for around 20 % of the people, otherwise they speak turkish or russian. They are Sunni muslim. There are around 4 to 8 millions of them, with 1 to 5 millions of them in Turkey, and 710 000 of them in Russia.

Si vous trouvez qu'ils ne ressemblent pas à des Indiens, sachez que le pays compte plus de 2 000 groupes ethniques, répartis dans 6 grandes "familles" (sans parler des cousins germains...) : les Indo-Aryens (en gros les populations du nord), les Dards (au Cachemire), les Tibéto-Birmans (nord-est, comme nos 2 jeunes hommes), les Dravidiens (sud de l'Inde), les Indo-Iraniens (les Parsis), et les Austroasiatiques (îles Nicobar).

The Bashkirs are a Turkic people inhabitants of the region of Bashkorstan officially in Russia. They speak bashkir and russian. They are Sunni muslim. There are around 2 millions of them.

The Nogais are a Turkic people inhabitants of the region of Stavropol and Dagestan officially in Russia. They speak nogai and russian. They are Sunni muslim. There are around 120 000 of them.

The Turks or Turkish are a Turkic people inhabitants of the country of Turkey. They speak turk. They are muslim. There are around 75.7 millions of them, with almost 3 millions of them in Germany.

The Tatars are a group of Turkic people inhabitants of the region of Tatarstan officially in Russia. They speak russian, tatar, siberian tatar, or crimean tatar. They are Sunni muslim. There are 6.8 to 12.8 millions of them, with 5 millions in Russia, 400 000 in Uzbekistan and 319 000 in Crimea.

The Tuvans or Tuvinians are a Turkic people inhabitants of the region of Tuva, officially in Russia. They speak tuvan, russian, mongolian and chinese. They are Tibetan buddhist, and tengrist. There are around 300 000 of them.

The Yakuts or Sakha are a Turkic people inhabitants of the region of Yakutia officially in Russia. They speak yakut and russian. They are shaman, and eastern orthodox. There are around 500 000 of them.

The Uzbeks are a Turkic people inhabitants of the country of Uzbekistan. They speak uzbek, but also tajik, dari and russian sometimes. They are mainly muslim and Hanafi muslim. There are more than 36 millions of them, with 26 millions in Uzbekistan and almost 4 millions in Afghanistan.

The Karakalpaks are a Turkic people inhabitants of the region of Karakalpakstan, officially in Uzbekistan. They speak karakalpak, russian and uzbek. They are Sunni muslim. There are around 620 000 of them.

The Turkmens are a Turkic people inhabitants of the country of Turkmenistan. They speak turkmen. They are Sunni muslim. There are 6.4 millions of them, with 1 million of them in Afghanistan.

The Kyrgyz are a Turkic people inhabitants of the country of Kyrgyzstan. They speak kyrgyz. They are Sunni muslim. There are around 5 millions of them.

The Tajiks are a indo-european people inhabitants of the country of Tajikistan, as well as regions of Afghanistan and Uzbekistan. They speak persian, dari and tajik. There are between 18 to 27 millions of them, with 9 to 11 millions of them in Afghanistan, 6,7 millions of them in Tajikistan and 1,4 millions of them in Uzbekistan.
