Do you have any headcanons about doing fall/Halloween activities with Frank? Congrats again on the milestone!! 🥳💜
Thank you so much again! 🥹🥰 I had so so many ideas for this, but I narrowed it down to just three so that it didn’t get too out of hand, lol. I hope you enjoy!
(The first two are fluff, the last one is kinda emotional hurt/comfort? Kind of? Idk. It’s not fluff, but it ends well, so there’s that. 😂)
Warning: Infrequent Cussing. Frank calls the reader “annoying.” (It’s not meant harshly, but I know that can be a trigger—it’s within the first two bullet points under “Corn Maze/Haunted House” if you’d like to skip it.)
________________________________________________
Pumpkin Spice:
• Frank does not understand pumpkin spice.
• It’s the first fall-ish day—the first leaf has turned yellow, the breeze carries with it a biting chill, and Frank finds you dragging a rubber tote out of the closet into the middle of the living room before plopping cross-legged on the floor in front of it with a huge grin on your face.
• “It’s the first day of fall, Frank!”
• As you scramble to find woolly mittens and scarves and the crochet earmuffs that you made yourself, Frank makes coffee.
• “Frank!” you call from the other room before appearing in the kitchen, two jackets zipped up to your chin and one mitt missing from your hands. “Can we go get something pumpkin spice?”
• Frank blinks at you.
• “Pum— you mean those overpriced fancy drinks they come up with ‘round this time o’ year?” The ones that taste so sweet they give you diabetes on the spot? He wanted to add, but couldn’t at the look of pure joy radiating from your face.
• You laughed. “Yes, Frank, those. Can we go get one?”
• And how could he say no to the hope shining in your eyes?
• Fifteen minutes later, your arm is looped through Frank’s, a steaming pumpkin spice latte in hand and your head resting on his shoulder.
• “Thank you, Frank. For taking me.”
• He grunted, but there was a slight lift to his lips that you couldn’t quite see, an adoration in his eyes when he looked at you.
Hide & Seek:
• How you convinced the formidable Punisher to play hide and seek with you in the park, you’ll never know. But you certainly aren’t complaining!
• Your hands tremble, but you force your breath to remain steady. Frank only agreed to this game because he was convinced he would be able to find you within three minutes, tops.
• So far, he’s succeeded.
• But you’re determined to prove him wrong.
• “Ready or not, here I come, sweetheart.”
• You bit your lip to hold back a giggle and something else that sent a blush racing to your cheeks. You press start for the stopwatch on your phone.
• You can see the last rounds now. A minute and a half. Two minutes. A minute and forty-five seconds. Your worst round, you were caught within ten seconds. (Okay, so acting as a “shadow” to the military man with specialized training may not have been your best idea…)
• But this round was going to take the cake. You just knew it.
• As Frank approached, you held your breath. There’s no way he could’ve found you already… no way—
• He walks past you.
• You nearly squeal with excitement, and would’ve if it wouldn’t have blown your cover.
• The seconds tick away on your stopwatch—you watch Frank move out of your line of sight, away from your hiding place.
• You’re sure it’s been at least two minutes now. You’re going to do it! You’re actually going to beat Frank—
• A rough hand clasps the back of your ankle, and you squeal as you’re dragged out of the leaf pile you call a hiding spot.
• Your finger automatically slips to the stop button on your phone. Frank’s deep, rumbling chuckle sounds from over your head.
• “Got ya, sweetheart.”
• “Frankkk,” you whine, leaves stuck in your hair and covering your coat. You show him the phone. “Two minutes and fifty-eight seconds. You couldn’t have waited another two seconds and let me win?”
• He laughs, pulling you in for a hug, damp leaves and earth clinging to both of you. You breathe in the scent of him, and all thoughts of the game are put—temporarily—on hold.
Corn Maze/Haunted House:
• “Frank, pleaseee!”
• “You’re really goddamn annoying, ya know that?”
• You’d been asking for fifteen minutes—you timed it. With full confidence that he would break by twenty.
• “Frank, please! It’ll be perfectly safe. The scare actors are just that, actors. And if there was ever any real danger, that’s when I’d have you. Please please please? Go with me? If you don’t go, I’ll just go alone.”
• That caught his attention.
• He huffed, grabbed his coat, grumbling under his breath.
• “You’re not goin’ to any goddamn haunted corn field alone.”
• Eighteen minutes. Right on schedule.
• You grabbed your coat and met him at the door.
• …
• “Frank, it’s okay.”
• The man was practically radiating tension next to you, and you were starting to wonder if you maybe shouldn’t have pressured him into coming with you. Maybe you should’ve asked one of your girlfriends instead…
• Every scare that jumped out from around a corner, Frank was throwing himself in between you, a firm hand on your arm, shoulder, abdomen to ensure you were behind him.
• And when you screamed? You might as well have had your own personal attack dog on you. Every muscle in his body would snap tight, focus directed like a sight at the target. It was enough to make several of the scare actors back off with hands raised.
• In all honesty, you would be lucky to get Frank out of here without an incident. What were you thinking? Why on earth did you think this would be a good idea?
• “Frank, listen to me.” You pulled him into a dark corner of the maze, where the electronic torch lights couldn’t reach.
• But he was scanning your surroundings, always on alert, eyes sweeping the area in calculated, but repetitive, passes.
• “I’m sorry, okay?” That got his attention. His eyes left their sweep and landed on you as tears started filling your eyes.
• Frank stepped closer, something achingly close to fear barely visible in the quiet corner. His hands found your arms, and a small sob broke out.
• “Hey. Hey, hey, hey. What’s wrong, sweetheart? Tell me what’s wrong. Are you hurt?” He scanned your body for injury, but you just shook your head.
• “I’m sorry. I’m sorry, Frank. I shouldn’t have dragged you all the way out here when you didn’t even want to go. I thought—I thought it would be fun, but you’re not having fun. And I’m sorry. I’m really sorry.”
• Frank thinks about this for a second while you cry.
• Then, finally, “I have an idea.”
• With your face buried in Frank’s chest, he carries you the rest of the way through the haunted maze. You tense at times, when you can hear something happening, but with your eyes covered, the scare actors aren’t nearly as scary, and with Frank’s hands both occupied, you don’t worry that there will be any unintentional occurrences.
• When you make it back to the vehicle, he sets you down. Tears still streak your face, and you move to wipe them away. But he beats you there, thumb swiping gently across your cheeks.
• “Frank, I’m sor—“
• “You don’t gotta apologize to me,” he rasps. “It’s done. You’re safe. That’s all that matters.”
• And while you don’t fully agree with him, you let it go, snuggle into the passenger seat of the vehicle all covered up with coats and an extra blanket, and watch him as he drives while making a mental note to yourself.
Another for the series, and we're still not at the end of it. If you've enjoyed these feel free to go check out my other autumn headcanons :)
-----------------
The first thing you do when the weather turns colder is steal Grian's jumpers
It's not like he doesn't have plenty of them
Even when summer ends the two of you spend a lot of time outside
Walks are frequent, you'll even take the cats out with you every now and then
When the cats are at home sometimes you and Grian are able to be out for even longer in the small cabin tucked deep in the trees
There's not much to it, but it's cozy
The main reason you both go is to watch the birds
Occasionally you'll spot other animals among the trees too, deer and hares, all kinds of bugs
Once winter comes you see a lot less in the woods so you make the most of the cabin in fall
With so many leaves on the ground it'd be hard not to even have a go making your own little den
More than once you've both competed to see who could make the best den
Den making usually ends with one or both of you having leaves and twigs stuck in your hair
You can't say you haven't taken the chance to stuff leaves down Grian's shirt either
Neither can he in all fairness. His and yours.
It doesn't end with the two of you either
All you have to do is ask Mumbo about the pinecone incident. That was a fun one
The outdoor adventures don't end there either
You might both own swords and axes, but combat with those isn't quite as fun as combat with sticks
There is nothing more satisfying than the loud crack of your opponents stick snapping in two
Of course the fun isn't exclusively outside
As the year ends you and Grian get to bring out the themed cat toys, And just about everything else
Plus you also have the blanket you and Grian spent almost a year on, that gets brought out when the weather begins to change
Every day always ends with you, Grian and the cats cuddled up nice and cozy, which is one of the best things about the season
-Cannot stand the smell of pumpkin and anything pumpkin adjacent. No pumpkin pie, no pumpkin spice anything. Not me projecting
-Loves a cozy fall drink though. Regularly hits up a quiet little cafe and chills there with his drink and a bagel, just admiring the outdoors.
-Long autumn walks. Sometimes alone, sometimes with Grayson, sometimes with Xander and Tiramisu, and sometimes with Libby.
-You know this man also absolutely spoils his girl. Again with the hay rides, horseback riding, takes her to the orchard and they pick apples. Anything, you name it and he’s doing it for/with her.
-Will pester Libby for cinnamon apple fritters and pastries.
-Has commissioned more than one fall shoot from Grayson.
-Of course, his go to fall outfit. Predictably, his old cowboy boots, a pair of dark blue jeans, a standard flannel long sleeve shirt and a denim jacket. And of course one of his cowboy hats. You all saw one this coming.
-His favorite holiday of all is Thanksgiving. He is a big part in the kitchen that day and insists on helping the kitchen staff. And once their grandfather passed, he was always the one who cut the turkey. And he always watches the Thanksgiving football game. The other boys typically came with, even if they weren’t quite interested in the game. It was a good, comfy, happy place to lay out and lounge after all that food. They all had each other. And that was enough.
-He hates when the Christmas season intrudes upon his happy little fall world. “Let fall have her day, dammit! Damned Christmas capitalism…” His brothers all find this amusing.
-He asks Libby to make Halloween and then Thanksgiving cupcakes

👻Halloween / Fall Headcanons with My Favorite SW Men🎃
A/N: people it is that time!!! SsSpPpOOoKkkKyYy tTiIMMee ooOoOOooOoo
I am a huge fan of Fall and Halloween time and I wish I could experience it with all my favorite SW men :/ These will have to do! lol
(not exactly a fall gif, but it’s wintery and that’s close?? idk man im trying)
Poe: So Poe Dameron doesn’t really have a lot of experience with Fall and cold weather since he’s from Yavin 4. But, the more excited about Fall you are, the more excited he will be. He has no idea what a jack-o-lantern is or why you suddenly want to hang spiderwebs and skulls everywhere, but he likes seeing you bubbly and happy about it regardless. Once you explain to him what trick-or-treating is and why only children are allowed to do it, he gets upset because he wants to dress up and get candy also! He would also totally be down to go apple-picking or to carve pumpkins with you. I think once you show him how much fun it is, he will actually get more into it than you are. (If that’s even possible)
Din: Our sweet precious bounty hunter doesn’t really have time for holidays or celebrations and can’t even remember when his birthday is. He likes the cooler weather (that beskar is like a fucking sauna) and has heard of Halloween before, but has never experienced it. When you explain it to him he is very confused and doesn’t understand why it’s a holiday in the first place. Din is a sweetheart on the inside so he will do whatever you want to celebrate the season, but he especially likes carving pumpkins. He can use a vibroblade to create his design and it takes him like 5 seconds to finish it. The man loves efficiency.
Cassian: Cass used to celebrate Halloween with his family when he was little, but as he’s gotten older he has left it behind. He likes seeing you get excited about it and will help you decorate if you need him to. He likes watching scary horror movies with you while you’re both curled up on the couch. He loves it when you squeeze his hand and cover your eyes by nestling them into his chest. He’s also a big fan of the Charlie Brown and the Great Pumpkin special and will watch that on Halloween night while you’re handing out candy to the trick-or-treaters.
Finn: The ex-stormtrooper has never heard of Halloween and when you explain it to him he absolutely can’t stand the idea of it. He doesn’t understand why people would want to dress up and celebrate being scared. He doesn’t like to watch scary movies or the creepier parts of Halloween, but he will definitely watch The Nightmare Before Christmas, Halloweentown, and Sabrina the Teenage Witch with you if you want. He also loves talking to the kids that come to trick-or-treat and he has to make sure that their parents are looking out for them nearby.
- carlos likes wearing jay’s sweaters once the weather cools down since they smell like him and they’re super soft
- sometimes, the two of them will go out hiking for the day and not get back until the late afternoon because the trees and the woods are just that beautiful. it’s very freeing for them to be away from everyone for awhile.
- jay loves apple cider (since it brings back memories of sharing hard cider with carlos on the roof back on the island) and carlos’ favorite drink will always be hot chocolate (because “jay, it’s like liquid chocolate bars. you can drink it”)
- ben takes everyone to the kingdom’s harvest festival and carlos drags jay to see all the baby animals in the petting zoo and jay challenges him to find the biggest pumpkin growing out in the patches and by the end of the day, they both fall asleep on the hayride.
