Chiron in Cancer / Chiron in 4th house: negative mother and father complexes
archetypes, negative complexes and astrological positions (astrology & psychology)
(the shadow part of the position)
(Apollo and Daphne, an example of emotional dependence) obs.: before anything, like everything in astrology, not all positions are manifested in the way that astrologers describe because everything depends on the native's will, whether in an active or indirect way. not every position or aspect will manifest in the same way in all people, not to mention that here i focus on the negative point of the aspect, but it still has its positive points, even if that is not its primary nature.
pic not mine.
native’s characteristics:
-> having a certain dependence on their father or mother figures, but who, in the end, seem to be very far from reaching their ideal
-> however, even so, they remain strongly connected to their ideal of what their parents should be
-> devotion to what was taught at home and problems with leaving the family bubble even after years
-> also, here we can have a paradox. the person says to him/herself "I want to be different from my mother/father" and at the same time, this person is someone with a deep desire to return to the mother / father home to continue meeting the expectations of their parents.
-> here, the mother or father are the models from which the person acquires foundations for his/her identity.
-> you can deposit the remains of your unconscious problems in the relationship with a partner, projecting the father's or mother's experiences, the unfulfilled expectations in relation to the father or mother - the outstanding maternal problems and the frustrated expectations that he had with his parents.
-> this can generate both a person with characteristics that allow him to more easily enter dependent relationships, as well as an emotionally closed person, as she/he is strictly linked to the figure of his house, believing that opening her/himself emotionally to another person will bring pain.
-> and why does she/he see it? because they doesn’t notice that they are in a self-destructive cycle in which they get hurt, and they live devoted only to the family environment and father and mother figure.
-> they want to meet the expectations of their parents and as a child who has not yet left childhood, believes that he/she should focus only on what his parents should give him: acceptance, love, supplies. she/he is a person who still lives in the image of a child who needs the nutrition of her/his parents. however, they dont notice that this endless search hurts more than it nurtures. why? because the parents don’t fulfill their expectations, in any way. endless pain cycles: just like the Chiron figure - endless pain cycles.
healthy ways to deal with it:
the mother and father negative complexes must become aware, that is, the native must notice that he/she goes through this and that he/she places him/herself within that cycle. it's necessary for the person to notice his/her participation and his/her CHANGE power.
after that, it's necessary that the person can do thedetachment from parents as idealized beings and come to see them as people who aren’t perfect.
as a consequence, feelings of guilt may arise for "being no longer respectable and devoted to your parents" in the way that was taught or required.
the native's task is to avoid feelings of guilt and feelings of abandoning the parents. even because such "abandonment" is necessary for the person to notice the patterns and cycles that they entered - which are toxic and can generate abusive cycles in other relationships. then the person has to notice that his/her parents don’t comply with all expectations and idealizations. disconnection is necessary to develop as an individual separate and different from his/her parents.
