Diamant, Jade, and Amber: Everything he believes in

There are many nuances in Diamant's friendship with Jade and Amber that are overlooked. In many ways, they represent everything he hopes for when it comes to the future of Brodia

Diamant is constantly held down by the weight of his responsibilities and the struggle of how to reform Brodia from constant warfare. His supports with Saphir and Citrinne comment on how these conquests affect civilians negatively and how there are nobles who do benefit from it. With this knowledge, Jade and Amber can be viewed as two reasons why the reforms matter so much to him

Both are commoners with humble beginnings. Jade may be famous for her strength, but at her core, she's a soldier from one of Brodia's mining towns. Similarly, Amber's a lovable goof from an alpaca farm. They're completely different from the nobles who thrive off war profits. They're ordinary folk who could easily have their lives ruined by war

Not only that, while they both make use of their strength, neither holds martial prowess as their main purpose. Jade's main passion is writing comedy novels, and Amber defines his dream of being a hero as helping people. Their goals align more closely with making the people around them smile, and both can easily thrive outside of combat

Jade and Amber both represent the common people Diamant wants to protect from war, and the peaceful Brodia he hopes for when war is finally over
