the cards disappeared at the end of vid because I decided to redraw them on photoshop later. (because csp's border effect sucks)

tbh when sketching this, I had a dilemma between drawing him doing a some sort of dancing pose, and making him sit on a throne (because queen of cups card usually has a queen sitting on a throne).

in the end I had a "why not both?" moment and decided to make him pose while floating on the throne like that lol

Solm: Trapped by your own freedom

An interesting character trait most Solmic characters have is how despite everyone being encouraged to find their own freedom, these same choices somewhat restrict them

Panette chooses to act dignified and refined to fit in with the nobility, but she ends up hiding a lot of her real personality and some of her comments makes it sound like part of this is out of shame

Merrin became a knight to rebel against her original role, but there are times when she embarrasses herself by trying too hard to live up to her self-inflicted expectations

Dancing is Seadall's passion, but this same dedication causes him to sacrifice his other desires and interests to make sure his dancing never falters. Different characters try to help him loosen up on himself because that isn't always healthy for him

No one would blame Pandreo for leaving his family's church like Panette did, but he decided to take over with all the problem that came with it

Fogado claims that he had more freedom and less expectations than Timerra, and yet, he went ahead and claimed responsibility for the Queendom by running the Sentinels

Even Timerra once commented that even your bonds can sometimes prevent you from being free. The choice to make friends also means giving up some freedoms because you'll have to be considerate of them and their well-being

It's just fascinating to observe how Solm's culture isn't really about doing what you want, but about emphasizing the freedom of having these choices and accepting the good and bad that comes with making them

Drew some joke superlative awards for the cast of Fire Emblem Engage!

These are super subjective, of course, and based entirely on my current run (Maddening Blind + DLC Xenologue). I’m halfway through the final battle right now and loving it <3
