Little involuntary whimpers of fear my beloved.
"Safe"
whumpers pushing a compliant/fearful whumpee into being disobedient or defiant.
- finding new ways to push them past their limits in order to break them and make them resist.
- giving command after command until whumpee finally glances at them fearfully or hesitantly.. then doubling down and waiting to see what they do
- "come on, you just gonna sit there?" while nudging them over and over after humiliating or beating whumpee harshly
- finally getting a reaction. "There it is! Thats the spirit whumpee! I knew you had it in you."
- not getting a reaction. "God. Youre really starting to bore me, you know. Know what happens when a victim gets boring?"
incidentally you've gotta love when a scientist or medic whumpee knows exactly what they're being threatened with, or exactly what kind of crash is ahead of them with their illness, etc, and it heightens the dread of anticipation <3
Bonds
Content: drugged/knocked out vibes, restraints, panic
The panicked jerk at a wrist tied to the arm of a chair. Another shocked tug.
The tremor that runs through captive's shoulders as they realize their situation
Too afraid to meet captor's eyes. Looking around anywhere but them even as rage arises at the violation of their rights
Imagining what could possibly be so bad that they have to tie captive up for this, and not just threaten them into compliance... what the hell are they going to do to them...
Too absorbed in their own panic to even hear the beginning of captor's monologue. "...What... what did you say?" Hoarsely.
okay but I love it when the whumpee's fears are never confirmed. Like, they've been captured by a Carewhumper, but Carewhumper isn't going to hurt them and has no intentions of hurting them. Does Whumpee know that? Nope. Do they have good reason to believe that? Also no. Nothing painful is going to happen to them, but imagine the crushing anxiety of anticipation where Whumpee keeps waiting for this other shoe to drop but there is no other shoe at all.
Meanwhile Carewhumper is trying to spoil them with affection and gifts but poor Whumpee keeps flinching and waiting to get stabbed or hit or tortured instead.
Anxiety in Whump
Hands pressed between their knees as they await what will happen to them
Clawing at the back of their neck while being questioned by the authorities after they saved someone
Biting the insides of their mouth so hard they end up with open wounds to prevent screaming in fear every time something moves in the background
Pacing so much that their teammates joke about wearing a hole in the floorboards, unaware of how much they’re suffering
Shakily bringing a cigarette or joint to their mouth after a particularly awful chain of events, and accidentally dropping it in their lap and burning a hole in their pants
Fun fact! It is actually possible to be so stressed that you start sweating blood
Whump Scene #11: Mice in a Maze
“I don‘t see a way out of here,“ Whumpee¹ murmured as they turned in place. All around them were thorned rose bushes in the shape of a long corridor, branching off into a maze of confusion. “Do you?“
“No,” Whumpee² replied in a similarly low tone. “Just roses.”
A laugh echoed quietly at a distance. “That‘s the point, my little friends.“ The whisper brushed their cheeks like a gentle caress. “You‘re in here with me, forever. There is no way out.“
Whumpees broke into a sprint, but no matter how far they ran, how many corner’s they cut; the voice kept giggling in their ear at the same volume.
All they could do was run and hope to eventually outrun the voice anyway—and hope not to lose each other in the process.
