In general, I've seen an increase of hateful comments on AO3, I'm not going to be guessing who or why. I've notice three fics get deleted after a guest leaves a very specific hateful comment. I worry that the authors don't realize their fic is a precious gift to the fandom simply by existing.

I think it's especially important to show love and support. I'm mentally and emotionally exhausted (bruh seriously) so I comment on every chapter so its smaller effort. Also by commenting on every chapter, I have a reminder in my own words what is happening. I've been mostly skipping 3,000 + word chapters, because I am exhausted.

Commenting is hard, and it is risky because I know I don't want to risk hurting someone. But there are pure hate comments, so honestly me doing my best to be loving is hellalot better.

I try to pick 1-3 scenes/quotes I like each chapter and explain why I like them.

Comment Bingo: Jily Addition

Happy New Year! I finished the Jily @feedthefandomfest bingo card, so this is my New Year’s present to the fandom 💜💜.

Very simple rules: comment on a fic with the given tag in a particular square; repeat until you've completed 5 squares in a line

Very simple goals: encourage readers to comment on fics; encourage fandom writers to KEEP WRITING (about your faves)

She sometimes wondered if these obsessive feelings that possessed her—these overwhelming, insatiable desires, bordering on mania—were a remnant of her Urge. But she refused to believe something so twisted and vile—something she had resisted with every fiber of her being—could influence her any longer. Especially when it came to how she felt about Gale. No. These feelings were her own. Truly her own. Perhaps that was part of what made them so addictive. Though, Gale was undeniably the primary source of the obsession.

"Gods above, Neri," Gale breathed, his brown eyes locking in her hot, white stare. "I swear I can feel the heat of your gaze spilling over my skin."

She felt her cheeks flush. The last thing she wanted was to make him uncomfortable. "Sorry. Am I too intense?"

"I just wish I knew what was going on behind those eyes." He confessed in a breathy murmur that she felt stir something in her core.

"Want me to tell you?"

The words surprised even her as they fell from her lips, and their eyes widened in tandem at the unexpected offer. But she had no intention of rescinding it. At least, until Gale's demeanor made her resolve falter.

She could see a fire ignite behind the usual soft warmth of his eyes, darkening and intensifying his gaze. His fingers dug into the flesh of her ass and he let out a low growl. "Tell me."

Now, in addition to writing the second part to "Sorcerer's [Sexy] Studies," I have been inspired by @lewdisescariot 's post (if you want me to untag you, lmk!) - and the comment thread along with it - regarding Gale and premature ejaculation and NEED to write a fic about him and Neri's first [physical] time.

I like the idea that, since she's a Durge!OC and she has no memory before the nautiloid, she really has no idea if she's even been physically intimate in the past. Not a clue. But, given the nature of Bhaalspawn, it seems unlikely.

And we know by Gale's own admission that it's been awhile since he's experienced purely physical intimacy (aka "pleasures of the flesh").

And I love the implications of that dynamic.

So now my cogs are turning and I HAVE to do it.

And I know other's are planning something similar, as well (based on the comments in the original post) and every Gale enthusiast should support their endeavors <3 Feed the Fandom!
