I remember in 2020/2021 when fictives/non human alters without hands would make videos of how they used to look, people would be like, “erm, if you’re a horse, how are you using a phone ☝️🤓” as if systems suddenly get shapeshifting powers when they realize they’re a system

We joined a server and were really active [which felt awesome cause we rarely are consistently active] and everything was going great and all til one of our fictives came up

Now there wasn’t like a list of fictives that weren’t allowed to be on the server [which uh…weird?].

But one of our fictives fronted and talked on a server and another fictive from the same source started talking to them

Which fine ya know—

Until they actively asked our fictives in question if they could treat them like source [in their source they are “the villain” of the story and are painted in a very bad light]

So they said they weren’t comfortable and that they were pretty much source separated— and when they told them that— they took it as a personal offense????

And like shamed them out of front and we haven’t seen them since??

I should really make a sticker of us saying "introjects aren't source" because goddamn people are so stupid about that

Just a reminder that consuming source fan stuff about your introjects doesn’t mean you’re faking. It’s sometimes just as much of an outlet to them as it is to you.

To clarify, I, the host, sometimes write fanfiction as a coping mechanism. I’ve been doing that years before I knew I was a system and don’t plan on stopping. The only difference is that I’ve stopped writing fanfiction about certain things because a few introjects don’t like fanfiction of their source and I’m not going to force that on them.

I’m currently writing a Stranger Things request I got revolving around vampire Eddie and was stuck on a part. Eddie (/sys) went “well if I was giant vampire monster in the woods I would probably hate it there because my wings would snag on everything” and then shook his wings at me. I realized that, wow, I’m writing a version of his source that’s actually close to how he appears in headspace. I am, in a way, writing about him and not his source. And he wanted to help me portray it accurately because he was finally seeing a version of his source that he can actually fully relate to. It’s like those TikTok videos that go “stitch this if I drew you” and a drawing that looks like you actually shows up.

So yeah, it’s not odd for an introject to want to consume source material or fan things. It’s kind of like being famous in a way. It doesn’t mean you’re faking or anything like that. If I got fanart of myself I’d be putting it all over my bedroom walls as well.

We were in a server that kept treating our introjects like their sources, despite us saying in our boundaries that we were didn't want that to happen.

It mostly happened to our DSMP introject.

We had a guy fakeclaim us cus we "only have fictives in the system" (we have brainmade alters, but we're fictive heavy and said fictives like to post about themselves more than the brainmades)

We once got fakeclaimed for... *checks notes* having a fictive who used tonetags? Not either of those things separately, just specifically in combination.
