soon after we had discovered our system we were in a server with a couple other systems and we had a lot of introjects from the same sources cuz we were into the same things. a few times alters from the same source would be interacting and someone would be like "omg do your remember that time you [insert some specific thing] in source??" and we would just have to apologize and say we didn't because a lot of fictives fronting at the time didn't have very strong source memories and also the things they were asking us about weren't even canon things that happened in the source, they were just little things they remembered.
Even if the things they spoke about were canon, or you had strong source memories, that's still really weird.
I wonder if people who are autistic and have OSDDID are more likely to have introjects because it's so common for singlet autistic people to mimic/mirror others behaviors
Adding our two cents to the introject post, its pretty accurate to how we experience them too.
A fictive usually adopts parts of a fictional identity (or sometimes multiple fictional identities) in order to “stabilize” themselves.
It can be name, appearance, behaviors, sometimes several or in fact all of those traits at once— and we occasionally have alters with pseudo-memories with host’s actual memories sort of being reflected onto them (ie, viewing a character from source akin to or alike a person irl that host had known, etc). But overall, it’s never the idea that they are entirely connected to source, they simply take traits of them, which is why our system in particular doesn’t refer to most of them as fictives unless they take too much of the fictional character’s identity to explain without their source.
