"Wanderlust" - Pyrography on Figured Maple I love the art I do, but I hate the vulnerability my pieces show. Lol this one is more on where I draw my inspiration. I'm grateful for ideas but the emotional portion of it does hit hard, especially with the little sleep a leave myself. I'm glad people have loved it and I want to hold on to this one for shows. I feel this has been one of the best things I'm trying to marry together, art and the natural beauty of the wood. I've looked for similar pieces for inspiration but it's nothing like what I imagine. People tend to go with more of the wood and let the design speak for art while others do the art losing the beauty of the wood. I'm glad for the people that support my art, but for the little things I'm passionate for, my art is one of them. I'm being ambitious and wanting my art to draw people in. I love what I do and the message I'm trying to bring across. I'm finishing off the interior components of the 4 remaining spline joint boxes and I had to resaw some 8" maple. My bandsaw maxes out at like 5" and doesn't have the HP to get through hardwoods anyway. So I set up a double stacked feather board on the tablesaw and ran it through a few times until I maxed out the saw blade height. Flipped it over and did the other side. That left about an inch in the middle to get creative. I started the cut with a handsaw, then used the recip saw to go the rest of the way, wedging the cut apart as I went. Cut half way, then flip and finish. Pretty ugly on the inside, but nothing that can't be cleaned up with a few runs through the planer and some sanding. Not sure you can still call it book matched if you remove 1/8" from in between the pieces, but that's as close as I'll get until @lagunatools or @grizzlyindustrial sends me a much bigger bandsaw to try out 😉 . . . . #wood #wooden #woodwork #woodworking #woodworker #bandsaw #tablesaw #resaw #resawing #bookmatch #maple #figuredmaple #handmade #hardwood #maker #thejawnshop

This Warmoth Strat body we painted for a customer turned out fantastic! Very unique paint scheme. Stained a transparent bluish purple then bursted in a nice Kandy metallic pearl purple.
