#finishing stuff

Talk about and old, old, old project. I put together these Now and Later gum wrapper chains back in 2011. I held onto them for ages because I thought they would make a really cute pouch. Finally, I did it. Now, I took some short cuts and just glued them onto the pouch. I am sure I could have come up with a much neater way to finish it... but at this point, it was all about just finishing it.

I was also silly and never took a picture of it finished... I will post that soon!

The best part of writing any fic...

...is the first time I finish it. It still needs to be edited, and beta'd, and all that; it's certainly not done. But writing that final sentence that makes it into one complete story, the beginning and the end linked with no big white gaps left anywhere in the middle is so immensely satisfying. The details can be tweaked later, but I know it's not going to remain a WIP!

So the younger kid, in school at the start of the year, had an assignment to make a goal for the year. And she, being her, was like "I'm going to make 26 goals because it's 2026!" and then ran out of space on her paper

So I was like "hey maybe I could do 26 finishes in 2026" because the kid inspires me

When I say I'm "almost done" with something, I do mean it. I am almost done. It's just hard to predict when we'll go from that stage to done.
