What made you ship it?

the snarky old married couple banter and well-worn arguments. can just tell they are a team, a unit, for better or worse.

What are your favorite things about the ship?

robot person ❤️ organic person is such a good dynamic and the imagination possibilities are so much, like. canon size difference. complex power dynamics. the mechanics of robofucking. and not even just the nsfw! like, i want to know how they met! how that relationship developed! how they think about each other. i think about them often they are so cool

Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?

I have no clue what the popular opinions are actually and I think im happy living in ignorance. Maybe that Kaytoo is sort of indebted to Cassian by programming and circumstance and struggles with that in his own way, and Cassian is not unaware of it but can’t really interfere more than he already has? idk

What made you ship it?

it’s your fault for sure because I never thought about it prior and now i have a wholeass wip languishing nearly finished that i’ve been working on forever. the kenobi connection is really attractive and fun to subvert, and also the bastard on bastard violence potential energy is off the charts

What are your favorite things about the ship?

see above and also BITING. lol, actually, that there’s so much potential even within canon and adjacent because of maul’s cockroach status and cody’s unknown fate, so it’s really sort of impossible to fall into a formulaic portrayal. maybe that’s just because there’s not enough fic out there to have caused that sort of fanon to develop, but whatever. it’s just a cool pairing and every story is its own thing.

Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?

Cody should also get to be force sensitive as a treat. and go a little dark side bc there’s nothing quite like second servings of dessert, plus also fuck with maul in the force as the cherry on top of all that. idk if that’s unpopular, but i like when they are villains, okay

So, because it was bugging me, it decided to find out how old Mira and Rona Wren-Bridger would be at the time of The Force Awakens and subsequent Sequel Trilogy. I went through readily accessible, and some stuff I already new, and came up with 30-31 for Mira and 28 for Rona.

For context, the Sequel Trilogy takes place thirty years after Return of The Jedi, four years go by in the Original Trilogy, and nineteen years pass between the Prequels and A New Hope. For added context, here’s some character ages at the time of The Force Awakens.

Luke Skywalker and Leia Organa: 53

Han Solo: 63 (Rest in peace, you beautiful bastard)

General Armitage Hux: about 34

Poe Dameron: about 32

Kylo Ren/Ben Solo: 29

NEW STORY: EDGE OF DETROIT

The year is 34 ABY, not long after the battle of Crait.

Black Spire, the capital of Batuu, a planet in the outer rim, is currently occupied by the First Order. After having destroyed the capital of the New Republic along with almost its whole military, only the organized crime stands in the First Order's way to absolute control over the galaxy now.

What, given the nature of the First Order, is not a good thing. Some claim that even the crime syndicates are a step above them (and depending on the local ringleader, that would be true in many cases).

Kylo Ren, Supreme Leader of the First Order, has come to Batuu in person to investigate rumors about a surviving Resistance cell holing up here.

Kylo seems to be on the right track. Right in the government district he feels a familiar presence. The face to go with the aura doesn't ring a bell, though, and that little detail tells Kylo whom he is dealing with here:

Finn the deserter, who has served the First Order since toddlerhood, but whom Kylo has only ever seen wearing a full body armor with a closed helmet.

This is the man who has went at Kylo with a lightsaber that by right should have belonged to him. And even moreso this is the man who very nearly hit Kylo Ren with a fuel hose in front of his gathered officers.

Some slights sting more than others. That fuel hose thing in particular is something that should happen only to Hux!

Kylo turns around lightning fast. He hasn't fully completed the turn when his lightsaber is already fully extended and humming intimidatingly...

i see finnpoe as hanleia

There are definitely parallels! I love FinnPoe tbh, at first I didn’t get the hype but now I think they’re adorable, and while I don’t think they’re exactly like Han and Leia, I can definitely see it!

The og trio was Luke, Leia, and Han. At first, some thought there was tension between Luke and Leia (before they turned out to be twins LMAO) But by Empire, it was very clear Leia and Han were meant for each other.

This is sorta similar in the sequels; While Rey, Poe, and Finn weren’t truly established till TROS (which I hate btw, I wish Rey and Poe met sooner because it would’ve given their friendship and the group more chemistry like the og squad) there’s that same flow to an extent; at first in TFA, many people thought there was romantic tension between Finn and Rey (including myself who is very much a Reylo now lol) but as time went on, FinnPoe became its own thing, even the actors shipped it.

Not to mention, Oscar and John even confirmed they played the characters as if they were in love.(someone pointed out that the face Poe makes at Finn in the scene where they reunite in TFA is the same face Oscar makes in another movie at his love interest)

Unfortunately, Kathleen and J.J weren’t having it so they forced a new love interest into both these characters in TROS which was a bit weird (even though the concept of Finn meeting another ex stormtrooper was very interesting) but the HC and fanfics still remain 🥰

So basically; poor kid becomes the next Jedi Master while two new friends fall in love. That applies to both HanLeia and FinnPoe. That’s just my take though!

I'm still very new to Tumblr. I wanted to ask the big character question list meme: my character choice is Finn 2187 from Star Wars The Force Awakens 😁

Ohh, this is gonna be hard, it’s been so long since I saw that movie… 

Why I like themI’ve always liked the good-guy-amidst-bad-people trope, also he’s v sweet.

Why I don’tThis is not about the character’s personality itself, but rather I take issue with the way he’s been portrayed, which is a bit cliche and mainstream for my tastes. Although, this is an action movie we’re talking about, so it’s natural that there won’t be enough time to fully develop every character.

Favorite episode (scene if movie)It was p cute when he found out that Poe was alive.

Favorite season/movieWell, he’s been in one movie, so *shrug*

Favorite outfitHe wore only one throughout the movie iirc, and I’d take that one over the stormtrooper one.

OTPTorn between him with Poe and him with Rey, but Finn/Poe had more meaningful interactions so to speak (the namegiving, for example), so if I had to pick I’d say that one.

Head CanonJudging form his background I see him as a bit of a compulsive perfectionist.

Unpopular opinionI don’t think leaving behind the First Order on a whim like that is too realistic. Even keeping your own values and having a shred of empathy in that environment is pretty hard and admirable, let alone desert, led only by your own values.

A wish(I’m not sure what I’m supposed to put here). This is more of a personal wish rather than a wish for his benefit, but since I like the plotline of him being raised as a stormtrooper and deserting, I’d like to see more inner conflict about this.

An oh-god-please-dont-ever-happenI don’t want him to become some generic fluffy character, please don’t erase his ‘dark past’ from the picture!
