A little bit of embroidery! I used beads in my work for the first time and I think they turned out well considering I winged it 🌿

My DnD project tonight -- finished the terrarium dishtowel! I almost always have some project or other in my hands while we play -- my recall improves, my mind quiets down, it keeps me off my phone, it sets the time apart as special. Sometimes, on bad weeks, DnD nights are the only time I do anything creative with fiber arts. Other times it keeps me chugging along. Second shot -- I added a fiddly iridescent thread to help with the terrarium illusion. Hate the thread, love the effect! And the succulent might be my favorite thing on the piece. Third pic -- one of my favorite stitches for leaves, a fishbone stitch -- one of extremely few "fancy" stitches that I feel remotely competent at! (#stemstich4life) I love this brief time between "it's so pretty! I'm proud" and "GIMME A DISHTOWEL QUICK" -- the satisfaction that a beautiful object exists in the world, and I made it, and someday it will be stained and destroyed because that's what it's for, but for now it's pristine and full of potential. This project, plus a satisfying game with friends who know how to Chaotic Good and a GM who knows how to Story, was exactly the therapy I needed tonight. Keep growing. Keep growing. Keep growing. #embroidery #colonialpatterns #terrarium #fishbonestitch #raisedstemstitch #stemstich #stitchersrevolution #colonialpatterns https://www.instagram.com/p/CFTvmfUpVbS/?igshid=5h20omb9oqaq
