99% of the reason (possibly more) I don’t have disabled tyrant’s beloved pet fish fanfiction plots coming out of my ears right now is that I am, tragically, an angst writer. And I.. cannot think of a single angsty thing to do to my beloved favorite fish blorbo?? Nor would I want to?? He deserves to be happy?? I suppose the solution would be to learn how to write fluff…
Why don't more people draw Li Yu with ridiculously messy hair? The official book cover art isn't even that messy (which is a crime). I can't remember what scene it was exactly, but there's a moment in the books where Mu Tianchi and Li Yu go on a date and Li Yu's hair is described as a mess (to be fair he's a modern man that suddenly has way more hair than he's used to) and Wang Xi is silently ordered to not say anything by the prince who thinks it's cute (he's right it is). So anyway, yea, I need more Li Yu with the messiest hair possible. It should be as chaotic as his personality.

I know that post was a while ago, but if you're still looking for an angsty fic idea for the danmei dtbpf you could have the fish boy have a miscarriage for the first pregnancy. Miscarriages definitely happens and it could provide hurt comfort, angst, and some fear because of the time period.

But this is also a really good idea! Miscarriage would be so sad and Li Yu would not take that well. He’s the best mom and would be devastated. There would absolutely be a depression episode after the miscarriage. I shall ruminate on it! Thank you for the suggestion 🥰

Okay how do we organize a fishwang week? It has to be in May obviously (mermay), but do I make a committee? Do we take submissions?? Does it need to be organized??? Or can I just insist that a currently undecided week in May is gonna be fishwang week and we all just nod our heads and accept this and post en masse about fish being the best fish ever??
