So after a long ass time I've finally finished the part 2 to the Missing ''Brother'' fic known as The rainbow that once faded Part 1 is finally (sorta) finished for you all to have a read through of but 1st Imma need to lay some new things/retcons to understand before the story
1st this AU is no longer called Missing ‘’brother’’ with the AU now called ‘The adventure of myself’ however the origin story of how Polite became Cutie now has Missing ‘’Brother’’ as it’s official title
Fancy used to be genderfluid but it is now retconned to now so that he’s transmasc in my AU with a similar way to how his journey had been like to @techno-dragon's version of Fancy
Other characters are also queer in this AU with Rainbow Beard & Secretary being homosexual and the Mayor being pansexual
But now onto the story itself so here goes nothing
The Rainbow that once faded Part 1
After Fancy & Cutie went back to Squiggleville the both of them decided to go to a nearby forest just to chill after such an adventurous and busy day, but while Fancy is just parkouring as usual Cutie is more thoughtful not only about her actions that day (which she only regrets cus she got Fancy into trouble but otherwise she loved being a pirate princess) but she really thought about that Captain Rainbow beard guy not only how goofy he was but for some reason he reminds her of someone she knew from her past and so she thinks back to one of the more notable moments of her younger years,
It was when she was 5 (back when she was Polite Shirt) and during what should’ve been a typical day she was kidnapped by a group of cocked up pirates with them kidnapping her due to rather nonsensical reasons, but before they could do anything to her their ship sunk (though with how bad it smelled it probably needed repairing) with Cutie being the sole survivor of it as she enters a boat leaving the other pirate’s to drown, which made her feel disturbed since even though they were bad guys she still let them die so already alot to think about, at 1st things seemed hopeless with Cutie stuck in the ocean as she tries to control the boat despite the lack of a paddle,
But when it seemed hopeless suddenly another boat from the distance noticed her as it rides towards her in where the sole sailor of it lends a hand to Cutie as he helps her get off the useless boat, after she was saved she had a better look on her saviour that being a fat guy in a comfy trenchcoat, subtly puffy pants, a typical sailor hat with his clothing having a generally blue & grey colour scheme and most notably a few hair strands on where a full beard are usually which also seems to have a colourful tint to them so she could clearly see his rather concerned and worried expression in where after the sailor was asking her on if she’s ok only for to sob over somehow surviving with the sailor calming her down and telling her that everything will be ok, and so after the sailor help made Cutie feel warm with his blanket Cutie asked him on who he is with the sailor introducing himself as
Sailor Richard in where he talks about how he’s a kind hearted man who not only loves to explore the sea but to also help those who are lost in the sea which he says that he’s thankful that not to many of these cases happen but knows that their never a 0 especially with Cutie’s case, so he promises her that he will take her back to where she lived with Cutie simply saying that she came from Squiggleville and hope he knows it which Richard understood he even told her that he went there for vacations a bunch of times in his life so he knows his way around that wonderful town which was quite a miracle for her so she excitedly hugs him as the 2 prepare to sail off
And so Cutie relaxes in the seat’s as Richard from the kindness of his heart sets off to Squiggleville as he says to her ‘were gonna get you back to the comfort of the grass just you wait’ a comment that amused Cutie as she says ‘yeah...’ as Richard notices the off way she said it he reassures her with ‘look I know things seem rough now laddie but trust me Polite we will make it there, so chin up lad and come ride with me’
As he takes Cutie to the driver area where he let’s Cutie look outside as he properly boots up the boat as he begins driving though the initial move was rather abrupt causing Cutie to nearly trip though she was able to grab onto Richard’s coat in time with Richard barely budges as he apologizes to Cutie for not warning her about this kind of thing as Cutie quickly gets back to her seat as Richard steady’s his boat as he starts to sail the sea with determination as Cutie gazes at the sky with awe & fear with the whole thing feeling bizarre for her especially with what happened beforehand as she tries to get used to such an unexpected circumstance with Richard being the saving grace of this whole thing as he commonly checks on Cutie to usually tell her about something from his past even mentioning the Secretary as a friend of his which pleasantly surprised Cutie or to even sing her some songs (usually a shanty),
No matter how high a tide is or how shaky the boat gets Richard always tries to make sure that Cutie is okay and is having a good time or atleast is in safe hands especially her emotional well being,
But eventually just a few hours later Cutie would finally make it back to town with Richard coming with her so they could find a trusted adult to take Cutie back home, after exploring the dark yet oddly comforting town under the night they would meet up with the secretary who was quite surprised at their arrival with her glad to see Cutie ok but is also happy to see her good pal Richard again as they hug eachother in quite a roughly tight yet friendly way as they yap about how much they miss eachother which enamoured Cutie as she tells Secretary about how much Richard help her during a rather catastrophic situation which Secretary graciously thanked Richard for as she says to him ‘you really are the hero of the seas’ ‘aww misses you can’t keep your standards that low’ says Richard as they both laughed about the joke with Cutie not getting it but still laughing along anyways which created quite a hilarious yet hearty moment between the 3,
Though eventually Richard had to go since he still got a job to do but not before giving Cutie one last hug and reassuring her that he will be back someday as he sails off once again as Cutie is sent back home as the 2 do so they both though about eachother and excited about the prospect of seeing eachother again...
But now 4 years later and she has heard nothing from Richard not even Secretary saw Richard since then like no one has heard anything from Richard for a long time and Cutie felt almost dejected with how such a heroic guy is just gone with no indications of his fate whatsoever
As the thoughts about him aswell as the lack of anything interesting in the forest with even Kaboodle just relaxing it all just made her feel dead inside and with not much to make her feel any genuine happiness she stood still as her mind becomes a mess of despair & mourning for who the she thought would come back,
So she stands idly as she tries to calm herself down but is only feeling more of an inner sense of dread that she’s still hiding, but-
‘Cutie are you okay?’ the Secretary’s voice shows up and intrudes on Cutie’s moment of despair as the rest of the Secretary’s presence snapped Cutie back into reality with Secretary checking on her since they were confused on why Cutie was ‘Just standing there and doing nothing instead of exploring the forest, Like is something up Cutie?’
Secretary says with some concern as she waits for Cutie’s response with Cutie after a deep breath saying that ‘I was thinking about Richard about...’ Secretary seeing the melancholy in her face says ‘Yeah it was sad seeing him so crazy and insane especially his ramblings about-’
‘Wait WHAT!? what are you talking about?’ says Cutie
‘Oh... guess you didn’t recognize him, though with that beard of his it’s barely a surprise’ says Secretary as she glances at Cutie with a look of concern as Cutie says with horror
‘Wait it can’t be!, was that crazy pirate really-’ ‘Yes, that Rainbow Beard is Richard, or atleast was with how crazy he seems to have become the last time we met him...‘
Cutie is mortified like she barely has the words to describe her sheer shock over this discovery as she starts to panic over i- ‘AAAH!’
Suddenly they heard a tree break as Fancy screams with the 2 worried for what just even happened ‘Wait was that my bro how is he getting pwned?!, I need to go help him’ Cutie says as she and Kaboodle runs of to the noise with Secretary following them out of worry, it didn’t take long from to find Fancy now running rather franticly as Cutie & him accidentally bump into eachother, and before Cutie could if he’s okay Fancy yells out ‘We gotta get out of here Rainbow Beard is back and I don’t know what the manly beard did to him but he seems more powerful then before so we need to-’
‘SILENCE YOU WRECKS, I SHALL DESTROY YOU ONCE AND FOR ALL ESPECIALLY THAT PINK BRAT!!!, And with this new and improved manly beard of mine NO ONE CAN STOP ME EVER AGAIN!!!’ Yells out Richard as he prepares to kill the 4 in his sights as he gets ready for a brutal battle unaware that the battle won’t just be a physical one.
