What was your latest cover/blurb buy? . . I picked this beauty up last time I visited Dymocks in Canberra, isn't the cover intriguing?! . On a quick side note, I've noticed lately that some hardcovers from Dymocks come with this plastic covering. I don’t know if it's their decision or certain publishers but it makes books feel like library books imo 😅 I do appreciate the extra protection for the dust jackets though. . This is an anthology that I picked up on whim just from the blurb, and I wish I had it with me now so I could tell you all, but the Goodreads description will do! . In the stories of Adjei-Brenyah’s debut, an amusement park lets players enter augmented reality to hunt terrorists or shoot intruders played by minority actors, a school shooting results in both the victim and gunman stuck in a shared purgatory, and an author sells his soul to a many-tongued god. Adjei-Brenyah's writing will grab you, haunt you, enrage, and invigorate you. By placing ordinary characters in extraordinary situations, Adjei-Brenyah reveals the violence, injustice, and painful absurdities that black men and women contend with every day. These stories tackle urgent instances of racism and cultural unrest and explore the many ways we fight for humanity in an unforgiving world. . . . . #fridayblack #nanakwameadjeibrenyah #anthology #dymocks #bookhaul #prettycovers @dymocksbooks #ausbookstagram #ausbookishfeatures #readbyamity #booksofinstagram (at Wollongong, New South Wales) https://www.instagram.com/p/CEsGI9PAAUa/?igshid=kyd1g5ts1n6e
