fuck cringe culture!!! I love undertale it gives me nostalgia and found a fucking cosplay cringe comp!? tf!? those cosplayers have a common interest and are having fun together! they never did jack shit to you like they are just having fun!?

  wanna know what I find cringe? downgrading and insulting people for having an interest! not letting people have innocent fun bc it’s not “pleasing” you!

cringe culture is ableist! It’s rooted in ableism and is often used to downgrade people with autism when they are excited about their interest or a person with ADHD having a hyper fixation and a depressed person with escapism!!!

I use my fandoms and aesthetics as escapism and I’m diagnosed with depression, anger issues, anxiety, and low self-esteem!

my fandoms and aesthetics help me grow! they help me escape my daily life and live in my “fantasy” world!!! my diagnoses affect my daily life so much and it’s so exhausting to see ableists gatekeeping me and other people from having innocent fun!!

Down Syndrome does not give someone an excuse to be an asshole any more then autism.

There is a Downs Person across from me who happens be being an asshole. She continually burps and thinks it is funny and yells at other people. Listen parents if you have a Downs Child actually raise them.

I have had enough of seeing adult children come into this place with no idea how to act or anything.

I see you getting heaped pity on for just having that child and not even trying to rise it. 

You know where all the poorly raised disabled children go. 

I have been in some of the most horrid places in my life and that is where they go.

Listen I have taught so many men considered terminally illiterate how to read and sometimes even write I wonder why their teachers failed.

Maybe because the parents and teachers of so many disabled people are failures.

Let me just say as someone with aspergers who has known about it for 11 years. What frick frack tik tak snick snak is this? Nobody grows out of autism and it cannot be cured. To quote @spicy_autistic “anyone who thinks that is admitting to their own ableism” I’m sure alot of people who have it would rather be nurotypical but I’m not gonna go into that rn, what i will say is YOU DO NOT GROW OUT OF IT at best you learn how to hide your symptoms to not be bullied or treated differently by society. Fuck you @nytimes for spreading this bullshit. This is nearly as bad as when someone thought eating meat and drinking dairy was the cause of autism (totally doesn’t sound like a vegan scam at all) I cannot put into words the amount of mental pain this causes me and how pissed off i am. Did whoever write this article actually seek advice from a licenced doctor? Or hell anybody who knows wtf autism is? I feel so sorry for this kid to grow up in an environment like this. I am especially pissed at the parents who described it the way every ableist parent describes their kids symptoms “all of a sudden he was just fading away, falling apart I can’t describe my sadness it was unbearable”.
