Autistic/ ND people, what is the stupidest thing a neurotypical has said to you?

I’ll go first. A boy from my school asked me if autistic people have an extra chromosome, and when I told him no he tried to fight me on it. He also started trying to explain to me what a chromosome is and, spoiler alert – he does not know.

This is a video that was published, now taken down, by autism speaks, years ago, and, I just, I don't know how to express how rediculous this video is, it isn't about the voices of people with autism, to me, it seems to be more about spreading awareness of everything thats bad about autism, it's almost like fear mongering, within this video they state that they will fight autism with VOODOO

Now if you wanna explain to me how the fuck you're gonna fight a mental disability with a fucking doll, I'm all ears, cos I'm sure it's gonna be hilariously rediculous

This video also doesn't seem to contain the voices of any people who actually have autism, just their family

Autism isn't a disease, it's not something that can be cured with medication or anything, it's a mental disability that affects millions of people, this video was clearly not made by someone who either has autism, or has had a great deal of experience with people who have it

I only found out about Autism Speaks less that 30 minutes ago, and I can safely and securely say.

Autism Speaks, does not speak for me, from the few things I've seen and read in the past, what, 20 minutes, I can see that the people who run autism speaks don't have autism, nor do they have any idea what the fuck they're talking about.

Now I'd love to sit here and explain what autism is, but fuck me I cannot be arsed, but I'll tell you one thing, if you want to know more about autism, don't look for facts from Autism Speaks, cos they're likely bloody wrong.

Today is World Autism Awareness Day and because Autism Speaks doesn’t speak for me, I’m going red instead! We don’t need awareness, we need acceptance.
