HI HELLO! AND WELCOME TO MY BLOG!

This is speciesism!

My name is Calico! I'm an adult and I use she/they/it/any pronouns except for he/him along with you/your and thou/thee second person pronouns. And this blog is for anything speciesist or anything that is bigoted or against animals, plants, fungai, or nature in general!

I don't have a dni and anybody can send an ask. I'm friendly towards all folk, creatures, critters, cryptids, humans, and beings. This is also a delusion and IRL safe spot.

Although speciesism is usually defined as "the assumption of human superiority leading to the exploitation of animals," - I am extending this blog towards mistreatment of all of nature.

Forests, oceans, ice caps, mushrooms, nature in general, as I feel as if the assumption of human superiority overlaps and causes the exploitation of all of nature, not just animals.

Please also keep in mind that this blog is not a vegan blog. Not everyone can sustainably become vegan. Some bodies cannot sustain a vegan diet. Some people live in food deserts and don't have the money to drive to a place where they can buy vegan food. Many Native Americans live on reservations and are required to hunt in order to survive. Many religions and spiritual practices see hunting and consuming animal products as a sacred act.

This isn't the place to complain about people not being vegan. But you ABSOLUTELY can bring up how horrific things such as fur farming, mass company fishing, and modern agriculture is. You ABSOLUTELY can bring up abhorrent food dishes that require unnecessary brutality such as ortolan or pinikpikan, but make sure to criticize such dishes without xenophobia or racism.

This blog does not have a DNI! This is a blog about sharing speciesist experiences, not a personal blog! Anybody can experience this and I will not bar somebody from sharing their experiences even if we share differing beliefs!

Alright, next mushroom sans is done! And it’s Classic.

This one was pretty fun to do! Even if doing the truffle pattern on the hoodie was a total pain. And since these guys are supposed to be skeleton shaped fungi and not just have outfits based on fungi, it was fun to play around with different “bone” colors, he just didn’t look right being a simple off-white.

Anyway, silly little truffle guy- for anyone who doesn’t know, truffles are round mushrooms that grow in the ground. So he spends a lot of time in the ground! Eepy little guy. Also I did the math based on Horror, and Classic would be 6.75 inches tall! So smol. Thanks to @errorsanspilled for suggesting this!

Honestly I’ve never played The Last Of Us but if there were a zombie apocalypse… fungi being the culprit for high jacking our bodies seems to me, the most accurate and possible cause of transference and infection - considering our entire world would not be able to function without fungi (ie: mycorrhizal networks)
