I swear, to whoever’s up there-
Stop leaving us hanging in the middle of a masterpiece. I’m begging you.
I get it, writers need breaks. You can’t just dive headfirst into a storyline without time to breathe. Creative work takes time—a lot of time. But not a freaking decade. Especially when you know your readers are holding on for dear life, waiting for that next chapter.
A week? Sure. Two weeks? Fine. A month or two? We can deal. But months on months? Even years? That’s brutal.
We readers understand that life happens. Things get hectic, emergencies come up—you’re probably trying your best. But we’re trying too. We’re showing up, checking for updates, holding on to your story because it matters to us. Some of us literally open the site just to see if you’ve posted anything.
And every single time I find a masterpiece, I get sucked into it… then bam—life sucker-punches the author and we’re left stranded in the middle of the plot. No closure, no updates, nothing.
All I’m asking for is something. A note. A post. A little, “Hey, no more updates, sorry” or “It’s gonna be a few years, give up now.” At least then we can mourn properly instead of refreshing like fools.
