Ship fics are referring to any fic that is about two or more characters and their romantic/sexual relationship, where the story revolves around that relation ship, or takes a good chunk of the story
Gen fics refer to any fic where the main plot/story is NOT focused on the romantic/sexual relationship between two or more characters (gen fics can include ships, like if there is an established relation ship, but the fic is not focused on the ship)
The main point though is, do you go looking for ships, or other reasons

Of those I've already posted about, Silver Stars by pumpkabae (rated E, ongoing, AppleDust longfic) was written with post-S2 events in mind (though it starts out set mid-S1).
A Tail of Two Demons by Otoshigo (Rated T, complete, RadioApple oneshot) is one in which Lucifer rescues Alastor from Vox, disrupting his plans, and decides to take "Alastor does not have a tail" as a personal insult. xD
New Fic Recs:
Same As It Ever Was by Otoshigo (Rated T, complete, RadioApple oneshot): in which Lucifer has Sustained Traumatic Memory Issues from the events of Season 2; this one is so bittersweet! More sweet than bitter, though. :)
Survival Scars by Otoshigo (Rated T, complete, gen oneshot): I cannot resist an Otoshigo fic, I swear! But yes, this is "RadioApple for non-RadioApple Enjoyers", in that it's not particularly romantic/sexual at all, while focusing on their relationship. In essence, Alastor decides that while he wants to take down Lucifer, he must ensure Lucifer is in prime health first, or else it just won't *count*.
Additionally, MixkaRules18 and TrashDemonx have each written some fantastic rated-E (largely RadioApple, some RadioStatic) fics since the new season has come out, honing in on particular details within the season (e.g. Mixka's "Show Me Sloppy", which is exactly what you'd expect from the title, or their joint fic "Get Ducked (Literally)")!
MothballMilkshake has also written many, MANY fics (largely RadioApple and RadioStatic, with some Vees thrown in) since Season 2 aired, which seamlessly integrate the revelations from Season 2 into their plotlines!
For Velvette fans, Coming apart at the seams by PuffinStack (rated M, complete, Velvette&Vox oneshot) is a fascinating treat - it's Only Maybe Smut (But Your Mileage May Vary), in which Vox performs routine maintenance on Velvette's doll body and she gets turned on in the process (though no traditional fucking occurs).
Disassembly Required by Jethro_P38 (rated E in later chapters, complete, RadioApple) is a GORGEOUS fic, in which I'd recommend reading the first chapter even if you'd prefer not to read smut - it provides such a melancholy, insightful discussion between a thoroughly beaten-down Lucifer and Alastor, it's gorgeous!
For the soulmate AU fans out there, Little Green Apples by MothballMilkshake (rated E, ongoing, RadioApple) is shaping up to be a really fun one! (Notably, this soulmate AU acknowledges things like faded soulmarks and More Than One Soulmate and the like, avoiding many of the Implication Pitfalls of traditional soulmate AUs.)
Touching You, Touching Me by titanic_trash (rated M, completed, RadioApple oneshot) is a beautiful, emotional piece depicting Lucifer and Alastor's shared recovery from Vox's actions, through the lens of touch aversion and relationship boundary communication.
Hard To Clean by SolCaeruleus (rated M in entirely nonsexual ways, completed, gen fic) is just as beautifully painful as any of their other work; they really have In-Character Angst down to a science! This fic depicts Niffty realizing Alastor is Very Very Not Okay, and it's set in the first half of Season 2.

Hello everyone! I had a new idea for a februari challenge 🌟
Within fandom, there’s a big focus on romantic and sexual relationships, in my opinion sometimes to the detriment of other types of relations. Friendships, familiar bonds, queer platonic characters and aspec characters more often than not get the short end of the stick in these kind of spaces. I fear this notion reinforces amatonormativity and makes fandom spaces less comfortable for aspec folks.
In fanfiction spaces, gen fics are a good way to filter out romantic content! I love ao3’s tagging and filtering system in particular, as you can look up fanfics that explore non romantic relationships easily. I appreciate the ampersand and slash differentiation.
I would like to take the idea of gen fics further, and develop the presence of non romantic or sexual relationships in fandom spaces more. For example, I want to coin the term “gen art”! This would be fanart, that much like gen fics, explores characters and character bonds that aren’t focused on romance. I think it would also be great to develop a tagging system for platonic bonds. Creating this type of language within fandom is the first step to changing the relationship hierarchy we so often see there.
For this challenge, the idea is that for every day you create a gen fan work inspired by the prompt of that day. This can be art as the name suggests, but any type of media is welcome! Fanfics, art, edits, poems, moodboards, photography, the sky’s the limit. Don’t worry about skipping any days or changing up the prompts! This is all in good fun ✨💕

My fic’s for those who wanted more from the Grayson comic’s memory wipe, who love some good dramatic irony, or who wanted a proper longform fix-it fic of the Ric Grayson arc—all in one! I’ve made it a point to make it accessible to those that haven’t read the Grayson comics, or the Ric arc, or neither, so I think anyone can get a kick out of reading it!
fabric (frayed but holding) by Tevya (5k, Teen, Hurt/Comfort)
This is my oldest work, but also the one I'm proudest of. It's tender and has some healing and reconciliation while still allowing for Dick & Bruce to have a messy history that can't be fixed in a day, and I'm satisfied with how those components are balanced. Readers who like relationship studies, vignettes, and/or character-driven fic might enjoy it too!
False Front by SaviouroftheStars (260k, Explicit, Slow Burn)
This is a long Jaydick AU that focuses on Crime Alley as a real community, not just a backdrop for tragedy and explores how people survive there. It's full of slow burn sexual tension, found family and moral dilemmas. Perfect for people who want fictional universes that dive into the messy and complex political realities involved with vulnerable people and what they do to survive.

The fic looks at the contentious relationship between Dick & Clark from Bruce's POV during the era where both Dick and Bruce are Batman. Readers who like relationship studies, canon compliant fics, fun Damian cameos and Bruce being so protective and proud of his son will enjoy this fic. I wrote it for the DickBats lovers.
He Talks Like A Gentleman by klose (6k, Gen, Fluff)
If you’ve ever wanted to read about it baby Bruce developing a very innocent bit of puppy love for adult Dick Grayson, maybe this will deliver! The first chapter is just a G-rated DG love fest. This being me, it is followed by both Bruce and Dick angsting over their feelings in chapter 2. But this also being me, there is a happy ending where each of them gets everything he wants (hint: each other).
Illuminations by Averia (8k, Explicit, May-December Romance)
You're into the idea of Dick's Harem of Older Men, but there's an archetype missing in the selection? May I present Jefferson Pierce, aka Black Lightning, whose path Dick has crossed in a couple of stories. Each of their hang-ups of preferred dating preferences makes this ship into a richly complex rare pair and the story shows a less talked about side of the Outsiders Dick lead.

Bruce’s POV during a case in which he gets to be Dick’s biggest cheerleader. Lots of Bruce admiring Dick. Last chapter should be coming out soon.

This is the Dick & Tim roadtrip fic of my dreams! I had wanted to write a character study of Dick and his canon brotherly relationship with Tim in Post-Crisis for a long time, and this was the perfect opportunity. It's for anyone who likes introspection, trauma recovery, heart-to-hearts, canon divergence, emotional hurt/comfort, familial relationships and non-cape time, with a little bit of mystery thrown in.
Waves Breaking Against Us by battytrek (2.5k, Teen, Character Study)
I wrote this as a character study of sorts exploring the emotional impact on Dick as a result of Bruce's homecoming after grieving him. It can be read and enjoyed as romantic Brudick or as platonic or familial if that's more your speed. More hurt/comfort than pure angst. I had a lot of fun with it and I'd love to hear readers' thoughts!
