Sakura

When Sakura feels clingy, she wants to spoil you. She’ll ask if you want to eat something or if you want to do something together.

She’ll close the gap between you and her hoping that you notice and show her some affection before she makes it too obvious that she wants your attention.

Her thoughts are interrupted when you reply, saying you are coming back soon, bringing her flowers and her favorite food. Her heart flutters and she can’t stop smiling. Her thoughts drift back to something you told her a long time ago, ‘It’s okay to be a little selfish sometimes. It’s part of loving someone.’

Kazuha

Kazuha is not a clingy type of person at all. She doesn’t like expressing her vulnerability too much. But there are days when she sees you and feels like all she wants to do is pour her heart out to you. Tell you exactly how she feels, about good things and bad things.

But she can never bring herself to do that. For some reason, something or the other always prevents her from doing so. But that only causes that feeling to build up, rather than go away.

Now she’s much better with navigating through this, Kazuha found out that nuzzling her face against yours helps her the most. Most nights you wouldn’t notice Yongsun slipping into bed after you’d already fallen asleep. She’d made fun of you on many early mornings for automatically sidling up underneath her arm, curling yourself into her while staying completely asleep, like a reflex.

But tonight she makes quite the ruckus when she comes home, nearly yanking the duvet all the way onto her side after flopping into bed. You groan loudly in protest, a little annoyed from the abrupt awakening.

“Have a good time tonight?” you mutter groggily.

“Mhm, are you asking for one?” She giggles quietly, the sharpness of alcohol on her breath permeating the air between you.

“Very funny. Did you brush your teeth at least?” A disembodied whine emanates from her face burying itself into the pillow, but she swings her legs out from under the covers to head to the bathroom.

“Why do you have to be so responsible?” she stresses as she shuffles to the bathroom. Responsible? More like taking the the opportunity to reclaim your fair share of the duvet. You roll over with the covers under your arm to face the edge of the bed.

The covers shift more calmly when she gets back in some time later. Hard to say how long when sleep is creeping back up on you.

“How come you never cuddle me?” she asks in a volume far too loud given her proximity. Your back faces her but you’re certain her lower lip juts out in a pout while she says it. It’s too dark to see anything anyway.

You roll over, shushing her quietly with a smile and gently reminding her that all she had to do was ask. She huffs and rolls over with her back to you. You take it as a cue, wrapping your arm over her side and placing a soft kiss on her cheek. She slides a hand over yours, holding it to her.

“You’re not going anywhere,” she states matter-of-factly. Yongsun’s a little out of it still, but at least she’s home safe with you.

“Why dream if you’re right here? Besides, all sorts of weird stuff can happen in a dream.” You start rattling off the possibilities, surprisingly well-articulated and coherent amidst the ramble. But there’s no reply when you finish, because the silence between you is cut with her breathing, slow and deep. Her hand starts to loosen its grip over yours, but she still holds it to her somehow. You can’t help the little smile that pulls at your lips— both at her ridiculous logic that you could clown her for in the morning, and her adamant affection, even when asleep.

Your breathing slows in tandem with hers, reveling in the warmth of your girlfriend-turned-personal-heater. The brief thought of dreaming of her flashes in your mind just as you finally drift off back to sleep.

Having finally arrived at the end of a dreadfully long week, you had to refrain from speeding on the way to your bar of choice.

The ambience there was exactly as you would expect on a Friday evening, loud conversation thick in the air. You hardly paid attention to the clusters of people, making a direct bee-line to the dark mahogany bar table at the edge of the room. It was a rather upscale joint that you could not really afford, but the atmosphere was so comfortable that it had swiftly become your favourite place to unwind.

The bartender approached you with a warm smile, dressed in a smoothly ironed black dress shirt contrasted well with a red tie.

“What will it be, Miss?”

Your interest grazed lazily over the wall of glass liquor bottles.

“A whiskey, just with ice, thanks.”

Lowering your head onto the wooden surface, you could feel the stress and fatigue soaking into your bones. A whole week you wanted only to erase with the consumption of a few drinks; to move onto the following week as if nothing had happened.

The stool beside you creaked beneath the weight of a stranger. You did not lift your head, not until she spoke, “I’ll have a bourbon and soda water. And you can put her drink on my tab.”

When you turned to face this anonymous speaker, she was already staring directly at you. You met eyes with her and she shot you a wink.

Her neatly trimmed hair had been bleached blonde almost to a shade of silver, the length sitting a few inches above her defined collarbones. Wearing a cropped singlet, you had to restrain yourself from glancing down at her slightly exposed cleavage and toned core. You would sneak a glimpse when she was not still watching you.

“What’s got you so down, honey?” She pressed her cheek to her palm, wearing an expression that seemed genuinely curious, though you knew it was merely playful banter.

The girl wore a wide grin as she spoke unabashedly, “because you’re cute. Isn’t that generally the reason?” Your face grew hot at the abrupt compliment, and she gleamed in amusement.

“So, what’s your name?” She was now brazenly exploring your figure, having earned her full attention from only a few moments of conversation.

A splitting headache and burning nausea afflicted you as you stirred from sleep, many of your memories from the previous night blurred. You stretched, soft bedding gentle against your bare skin, and opened your eyes with caution.

Though you recalled going home with Soyeon from the bar last evening, you had failed to remember just how lavish her flat had been. The walls were shades of brown and cream, a window stretching from the floor to the ceiling cloaked by thick curtains. 

You half expected to draw them back and find a hidden glass door leading to a balcony. There was as much length to this room as there was in one half of your own apartment.

“Is … everything okay?” You asked, not entirely sure whether it was any of your business, but too worried about her to care.

“Just work,” she hummed, her harsh visage softening as she joined you in bed once more, wrapping her hand around your wrist and lightly tugging you closer. You laid your head across her plush thighs, rather fond of the view of her sharp features.

You snorted, “what kind of job do you do that makes you stressed like that?” Soyeon raised one eyebrow at you.

“I’m the head of a mafia gang.”

The abrupt admission snatched all of the air from your lungs. You sat up, leaning on one palm to examine her. Though you thought she was joking, the way her face did not shift even slightly warned you perhaps she was not. You laughed awkwardly, but her expression still failed to break.

Her touch skimmed your face, with such a subtle presence that chills ran down your spine. It took only a breath’s moment for her to advance till she was just inches from you. 

Butterflies tickled in your belly, her proximity bringing you back to school days; the innocent days when you would become shy over merely brushing hands with an attractive girl. It had been a long time since you had felt like this about someone. No one had made you so flustered.

#2. “It reminded me of you.” with lia :)

your girlfriend lays on the bed comfortably, she’s on her side, one arm holding her up and one hand in the bowl of popcorn she had made for the two of you while you browsed on netflix.

“this one sounds fun? it’s about a single mom who moves after- oh! that reminds me” her eyes move as they follow you around your room, handful of popcorn stopped midway as did her mouth, confused to why you left so suddenly. “i got you a book”

lia’s heart shaped lips part in shock, and she quickly emptied her hand before wiping it hastily on half a tissue that she manages to rip out from the box laying on your bedside table. she patiently watches you place it in her hands and sit beside her before quickly reading the synopsis printed on the back.

it’s adorable how her face reflects what’s going on in her head, the confusion, surprise and curiosity to know what actually happens in the book.

“you didn’t have to” she pouts, softly dropping her hands and the book in her lap.

“i know” smiling, taking her hand in yours “but it reminded me of you. something i thought you’d like”

“ i will” she smiles too, inching her face closer to yours before pecking your lips “thank you baby, i can’t wait to read it”
