If I look back I am lost.
The best thing about the House of the Dragon series is that they add in new canon information from George himself. The best part was confirming of course the Aegon Conquest theory and also some lore for Valyria... For many years people would guess at how many dragons the Valyrian Free Hold owned. Now it so happens the show has confirmed it was minimally 1000 dragons🐉. Talk about overkill 😂.. Before this the only thing we could go off was that about 300 hundred dragons were sent to finish off the Rhoynar.. And that they did💀💀..What alot of Show only Viewers may not realize or remember is that the Targaryens were only 1/40 DragonLord families. It's also stated I believe that they were probably bottom 5-10 of all families 😭😭. Imagine how much more impressive the other families were. Here we have Aegon and 3 simple dragons claiming Westeros(R.I.P Meraxes🙏) .. And their ancestors had over 100x that amount..It is known as hat Aenor Targaryen only came to dragonstone with 5 dragons (1 which was Balerion). From that time till Aegon Conquest the other 4 would die somehow and Meraxes/Vhagar would be born from a set of eggs.. Just doing a simple amount of math we can deduce logically if you divide 1000 dragons by 40 families it would average out to about 25 per family. But as I just mentioned Aenor who family was lower ranking amongst the he dragon lord only had 5 dragons. So I'm thinking there probably were some families with at least 100 dragons strictly for their family 😳..
Imagine if they survived the doom.. Whitewalkers would've been toast easily 😂💯
Definitely need a short 1-3 season show on Valyria 🤔🙏🙏🤔. I would argue it should be animated since I think cgi work for a thousand dragons would be more $$$ then a standard all around animated show. They should either make it Avatar the Last Airbender style or Clone Wars Clay animation style in my opinion

Hizdahr zo Loraq
I had a lot of fun trying to establish what you might call the Ghiscari phenotype. The books describe amber skin and wiry black & red hair, with various eye colors. For Hizdahr in particular, he's described as pale and long faced with flawless skin. Dany says he's a real looker, too! He shaves off his wings and his beard as well for her. I thought to give him simply stubble, but I liked seeing the streaky red throughout the beard when it was close cropped, so please pardon this inaccuracy!
Discussing fictional races is always a contentious area, so I hope you guys recognize that I mean well! Anyhow, fan interpretations of the people of Meereen vary a lot. I think folks kinda want to force racial representation in where it's not really present to that degree? When I first started making Meereenese characters, I automatically depicted them as pretty dark skinned because what I'd seen on the show and all the stupid white savior conversations being had about Dany's plotline seeped into my brain. And frankly, wiry is a typical descriptor referring to type 4 hair which is more common in black people. But that's bringing stuff to the text that isn't actually there. I want to stay true to the text, that's like my biggest motivator. Even so, I wanna respect that people headcanon all sorts of things. If you check my Artbreeder page and look for the Meereen tag, you can see other variants I explored.
Sothoryos: People
By Shella Longclaw
According to Yi Tish records, there are six known people of the Sothoryos: The Brindled Men, Dapple Men, Lizard Men, the tanwih, tribe of farmers and eyeless cave dwellers. The Yi Tish know nothing of the eyeless cave dwellers. The third yellow emperor Chai Zhu brought back two Lizard Men (though one was a woman) as slaves. Scholars were able to provide a detail description of the people. They had calloused brown and green backs. From their belly to their faces were pale. They sharpened their fingernails and toenails to be able to pierce through flesh. After Emperor Chai Zhu’s death, the Lizard Men were sailed back to Sothoryos.
Due to Ghiscari and Valyrian’s acts, the tribe of farmers and the tanwih aren’t well studied. The tribe of farmers’ true name has faded away because of Valyrian conquest. There are a few descendants remaining in Volantis. They can be discerned from a green hint to their hair. Most information about these two tribes was provided by Princess Priti Chai. She debated and fought against slavery in Valyria. Third Advisor Yas Yao wrote in his book that she had on several occasions rescued slaves out of the Fourteen Flames. Some of these slaves sailed back to Sothoryos, while others were taken to the Far West for their safety.
The tanwih are very mysterious and perceived as mere rumors. Only one letter of Princess Priti Chai mentions them. She gives no physical description of them. She stated, “tanwih have scouts that can infiltrate any kingdom. They are hunters that can blend in with people. Only Huhanah (her Lengii female healer) can truly see his face. All the other people of Sothoryos called them tricksters. But I trust him, mother. He has a good heart. He only wanted to relieve people of their suffering.”
The ancient Valyrian discredited and looked down upon the Brindled Men. They don’t even mention the Dapple Men who also fought the Valyrian during the Fourth Ghiscari War. Seventh yellow emperor Chai Nui painted a different picture of the Sothoryi battle and the destruction of the Valyrian stronghold. He stated the Brindled Men’s military tactics utterly annihilated the Valyrian army. Their allies, the Dapple Men brought over titans to kill the Valyrian’s dragons. I’ll go into more detail about those creatures in the next chapter.
Contrary to other resources, the Brindled Men are not cannibalistic, nor did they drive other tribes away. Invaders such as the Sea People, Ghiscari and Valyrians are the most likely culprits. As for being unable to breed with the people, Yi Tish grand healers are doubtful of this allegation against the Brindled Men. There is an unknown potion which causes malformed baby and stillborn babies. As of now, no one knows the origin of such an evil potion. Could it have been from Sothoryos?
I hope in the future, other kingdoms will come to Sothoryos not for conquest but for gaining more knowledge.
I don't know if people noticed this, but the Ghiscari family names seem to work differently for men and women. Looking at the ADWD appendix, we have plenty of examples of male names:
YURKHAZ ZO YUNZAK, Supreme Commander of the Armies and Allies of Yunkai, a slaver and aged noble of impeccable birth,
YEZZAN ZO QAGGAZ, mocked as the YELLOW WHALE, monstrously obese, sickly, hugely rich,
MORGHAZ ZO ZHERZYN, a nobleman oft in his cups, mocked as THE DRUNKEN CONQUEROR,
GORZHAK ZO ERAZ, a nobleman and slaver, mocked as PUDDING FACE,
FAEZHAR ZO FAEZ, a nobleman and slaver, known as THE RABBIT,
GHAZDOR ZO AHLAQ, a nobleman and slaver, mocked as LORD WOBBLECHEEKS,
PAEZHAR ZO MYRAQ, a nobleman of small stature, mocked as THE PIGEON,
CHEZDHAR ZO RHAEZN, MAEZON ZO RHAEZN, GRAZDHAN ZO RHAEZN, noblemen and brothers, mocked as THE CLANKER LORDS,
REZNAK MO REZNAK, her seneschal, bald and unctuous,
SKAHAZ MO KANDAQ, called THE SHAVEPATE, shaven-headed commander of the Brazen Beasts, her city watch,
HIZDAHR ZO LORAQ, a wealthy Meereenese nobleman, of ancient lineage,
MARGHAZ ZO LORAQ, his cousin
All male family names seem to have either "zo" or "mo" preceding it. Now, we don't actually have many female names. Actually the only one I found was the Green Grace. But her name doesn't have "mo" or "zo", it's just GALAZZA GALARE. And it could be argued that maybe the Galare family doesn't have any of these particles prior to their family name, but when you look at her cousin, this is his name: GRAZDAN ZO GALARE. So it does seem like this is a distinction done in the names of men and women (obviously, this only applies to the nobility, given that common people usually have no family name).

The woman in the front center is how I picture Qezza of the Pyramid of Galare, if she were to return to Meereen, in Strangers Again.
